This is the first stanza of the 4 stanza madrosho in the Qum Fawlos tone in the second qawmo of the lilyo (midnight prayers) of Holy Saturday. In the Malayalam translation, the first stanza is omitted from this madrosho.
In the Malayalam service books, this hymn appears as an alternate hymn for the second procession in the "Service of the Adoration of the Cross" on Good Friday. The
English translation is:
A man named Joseph from Arimathea ( Syriac: Romtho ), righteous in his ways of life, went to Pilate and asked him: Give me the body of Christ, O judge, give me the treasure of all living beings, that I might go and enshroud Him as it befits Him. The Jews crucified Him on the tree. Give Him to me that I might take delight in Him.
