You may have been anxious about this, but I think this was very well done and best, it was grounded. Divination is about strengthening the right-brain, the real powerhouse in human mental ability, and the side that is hardest to develop in an Empirical world. The left-brain can only work with what is known or previously identified. But what was known or previously identified is subject to change and new interpretations of meaning. Intuition, creativity, and wisdom all come from that side of us that is intangible yet vital to our well-being. But, people that get lost in imagination do so when they deny that physical and sensory world that the left-brain processes. As you say, be theatrical and play, but don't loose sight of what is going on. It is exercise for the world in which we live.

Thank you Arith.Being a farmer here in new south Wales Australia I tend to whittle things back to that which is absolutely necessary.Runes to me require a short communication of respect to the spirits, and a simple grounding of myself. I really like your take on reading runes and the divination methods. It is not a fortune telling but actually something to open your mind to something that you may have forgotten about, something you may have put aside, and something that may or may not come true. As the future is yet to be rotten things are not set, but if you remain on the current mind set and path things may come to fruition as the runes indicate. I look forward to your next video on the runes.

Pretty good. I define the positions based on the Norn's names. Urdhr- that which is. Werdandhi- that which is becoming. Skuldr- the which "should" become. I don't use reversals but rather read the Runes in light of what came before. Wyrd/Õrlogr is not deterinistic but rather Conditioning. That which is and that which should be is of direct influence and condition but do not determine that which should be. Keep up the good work!

Thank you as usual Arith, and I hope your Void experience gives you what you need. You are your work are extraordinary. I use the three Norns method. First I rattle in my helping spirits, from the cardinal points, because there is a bit of the witch in me. Then I empty my Runesn which I made myself, onto a a white linen cloth. I sang the runes when I hemmed the cloth. Then I choose three blind and interpret them, with the aid of my helping spirits. Sometimes I do just a Rune for the day. I sometimes do Rune divination at the spiritual fairs in my town; I think people expect a bit of woo so I like the rattling and turning and throwing. I also use a method called Te Whare Tapa Wha which is a Maori unified theory of wellness. I guess this is a weird cultural mix but here in Aotearoa/New Zealand we are used to this model. This is four Runes for body, mind, spirit and extended family/clan/land/society. So yeah for me lots of woo, I guess, and it was informed by the book Futhark and I know you have critiqued S Flowers and I agree with you completely. But this method I have developed myself over years, so I think I can claim it for myself.

I do agree with you, every reader ( that do such divination) has their own spiritual journey, and the way "how they read runes", it depend on how they want to to ( what style and method, and also the way how they interpret the symbols. And in my opinion it is important to appreciate all the reader. Method in runes has many ways ( formation), and at the end of the day, the reader choose what they consider, the best way for them. ✨✨ just like tarot reader. There are many ways to read tarot ( method and formation of the cards, whether they're : 3 cards, 5 cards, 6 cards, 9 cards and so on... Then the reader will use ( choose the way of themselves), and if it is necessary, the will make adding cards to complete the divination ( to answer the question if needed). As well as runes. It can be 3 , 5, 6, 9, or ten. By the way thanks for your knowledge. Well said...and u explain is amazing 👍👍✨

I'm sure you read Germania by Tacitus. He described how germanic people was using divination: "They pay as much attention as anyone else does to divination () and lots. The method of drawing lots is uniform. A bough is cut from a nut-bearing tree and divided into slips. These are distinguished by certain signs and spread casually and at random over white cloth. Afterwards, if the inquiry be official, the community priest or, if private, the father of the family in person, after prayers to the gods and with eyes turned to heaven, takes up one slip at a time till he has done this on three separate occasions. After taking the three, he interprets them according to the signs which have been already stamped on them"

We don't know if those "signs" were runes, tho.

Idk much about runes or tarot, just getting into it, but, my interpretation of ‘progress-progress-destruction’ is, your progress up until now will result in the destruction of your current self, but a rebirth of your new self; The you before you started X journey is about to be a thing of the past. Welcome to your next chapter, whether it be good, or bad.

Dressing up to do a reading sounds like a carry over from ceremonial magicians where certain spirits require certain articles of clothing, but it does also remind me of how specific Norse texts are about the way people dress, which makes me wonder if certain occupations were expected to dress certain ways. There is a website called Hurstwic that has a good webpage on Viking Age clothing.

Thank you so much for pointing out that this is a modern practice. I believe that magick and religion are fluid and evolving things that can be recreated and reused as the needs of the people evolve with the times, but the amount of misinformation on rune history and viking religion out there is infuriating. You're doing an excellent work by promoting modern cultural practices while still keeping historical facts straight.

Thank you for pointing out that there are no historical evidence that the runes was ever used for divination, that while it is a useful method it is a modern practice. There are some examples of runes used in magic yes, stones with inscriptions for magic have been found but not divination which was generally done through trance systems in the old Norse.

I always felt that with only three that I was missing something important and so I more commonly use six and read them in a way that it tells a story. I often tell people that just because you have a question doesn't mean you'll get an answer, the runes will tell you what you need to know not what you want to know. I use the blank stone and don't use inverted, I feel that full context of negative or positive can be read in the context of the runes before and after. I often go blank or zone out when reading the runes, it's a very weird and unsettling feeling so I don't do it often.
