As you know, Tiwaz is related to the symbology of the spear as well, which I have not mentioned on this video on purpose. I wanted to focus on the case of the axis mundi, Yggdrasil, Irminsul, standing stones, poles etc. all vertical religious elements that represent the embodiment of the powers expressed by Tiwaz/Tiw/Týr, or the animistic understanding of natural phenomenon expressed in the figure of this deity. The spear acts in the same maner, as a vertical religious object representative of these spiritual aspects expressed in this rune. But as you know, before the spear came the tree, the standing pole and the staff of the wise ruler-magician - Ancient European religious perceptions, before Indo-Europeans, seem to have revolved around 2 main archetypes which dwelt in the mysterious depths of the unconscious mind of man: "The Great Mother" and "The Old Wise Man". Before the spear, the "Old Wise Man" had his staff, representative of the power of trees in the hallowed ground of sacred groves. The "Old Wise Man" was replaced by the "Warlord" deity, the chieftain sky god of war and justice, and the staff replaced by the spear.

Oh,oh I gotta bless & honor the Runas stones pretty soon or they will get pissed. Oh,I know. I have been having a problem one female Godess Frigga. Lately, she has been a clairvoyant nightmare in the work place where where rules finance and control. I have to do some special energy work to get her off of my back. She is guarding every man right now and punishing their personal life at work . I also saw Wotan in Lake Tahoe in Winter 2016 after the first deep snow year after 12 years of disastrous of Indian droughts. We got the white mountains back and the Big Horn Sheep survived extinction . At first,I could not believe my eyes ,all the abnormal thunder and lightening & snow we were having the desert. Then I realized it was the Nordic Gods making themselves known in Nature. They are not wimpy Gods.

I'm enjoying your interpretation of the runes I am also a huge fan of Ralph H Blum I am not sure he's alive anymore I also have his books of healing runes and I have had them for quite a period of years and have reread them so many times I could just about quote them I am absolutely thrilled though to see somebody else that's interested in the runes because most people prefer tarot cards which I can read those to just not as well.

That I think is a very clever and important observation: The base of justice is empathy. That, to my understanding, is what the old greek heroic myths were exploring to such a high degree. The root meaning of the word "hero" is a protecter or defender. So indeed: empathy is what motivates you to take on another person´s cause.

Hi, Arith. You were talking about passion and the definite link between a man and a woman when Tiwaz shows up in a reading. This is spot on if you look at the rune stylistically: the roof is the legs of a woman while the shaft is the male genital...

Hello Arith. I have always been deeply fascinated by Scandinavian culture and history, incorporating it into my D&D campaigns and my stories and games with my children. I found your channel recently and you have personally inspired me. I recently performed a DNA test and was immensely happy to confirm that I have Scandinavian heritage, focused in Sweden. This knowledge, and yourself with your passion and insight, has led me to today signing up for a CoE Norse mythology course. I am happy to be doing something like this, and I hope to continue this venture further into my life. I wish to at some point soon get a runic tattoo, something I have been thinking about for a very long time. I need to understand the runes further and what exactly I would like, and I know your rune playlist shall help. Thank you for your channel, your passion and your insight, and I shall continue watching with great interest.

Thank you so much for your thorough and informative interpretations of the runes. I have been using runes as a guide in my life for over 30 years and I have always been guided toward my true path, even if I couldn’t see it at the time. I am getting unusual readings (for me) lately. For example a lot of reversed runes (not typical for me). I know I am going through a major spiritual transformation due to many things in my life and perhaps that is the reason I am getting these symbols. Your videos are so helpful to me in understanding the history and traditions behind the runes and then how they relate to the results I am getting. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, wisdom and passion for these things. Much appreciated!

Your comment about interpretation is spot on, as you have said the Runes connect to one's inner being and so connects to everything that the reader is and determines, and so it has to be an interpretation based on the personality of the reader. It is like reading a book, everyone experiences it throiugh their own eyes, as we do life.

Jeez... a Lady in a Shop in Russia gave me a leather bracelet with this rune on it (quite a while ago that is). She said it just fits and I need it. She also described it as a warrior rune. The things you list at 15:30 basically sum up what came shortly after when my now ex gf who I dedicated quite a bit of my life to to help her reach her goals (while still working for myself) broke up with me and I took matters in my own hands, grew up as a person. It just fits too good^^ bit spooky. But I always feel good when wearing the bracelet nowadays :) Even the inverted tiwaz fits in a way ^^

You can not got to a fair battle without this two deities/powers! It can be material or spiritual. You need them both. Tyr is undervalued.

Wonderful! This was so "relevant"! There is a twig (I can't put a pic) the exact shape of Tiwaz lying on the cement next to the gate to the area between our house and store. It has been there for months and I notice it many times a day. There is a lot of traffic through the gate including a couple of wolves (friends of mine) once a week or more. We also get good rainstorms this time of year and it hasn't washed away. Sometimes it points one way and sometimes the other. I just went out and took a photo, still there, inverted today. What you discussed is a near perfect description of my current challenges with my life and my store and my relationships. I've watch a lot of your videos for quite some time. Your descriptions of Animism resonate and my instincts feel refreshed when I listen to you. I'm going to your Patreon page. Thanks again.

Taivas is a loan from Proto Balto-Slavic "*Deiwas", which comes from the same PIE root as Tiwaz, deus and Zeus. The PIE word is a compound basically meaning "of heaven", which is a sensible description of divinity from a primitive society.

I was curious when a video on this rune was going to be released a few days ago lol. There's this interesting poem on a saxon saex called Beagnoth(?) that's in relation to the old english Ear rune (Tiwaz) and its an interesting poem there's also what wikipedia calls "mysterious letters" outside the inscription of.the rune i cant find a single thing about in google and if enyone could say if they've seen anything like it then what?
