Arizona's HIDDEN GEM! Chiricahua National Monument (2023)

In this episode we check out Chiricahua National Monument in southern Arizona. It's about 2 hours outside of Tucson but worth the drive! This place has the coolest geological rock formations I have ever seen. Wildlife is abundant here including the Coatimundi which I had the privilege of filming up close. The Echo Trail Loop here is one of the best hikes ever with the ability to go in between the rocks in a canyon like environment. Hope you enjoyed the video!

A lot of good info. Thanks! My wife and I are seniors, and we planned on visiting this park in March, 2020 until the pandemic started. We are now in our 70s, so the 10 mile loop is out of the question. I believe that we can still do the Echo Loop trail thanks to your video.

Love your style and presentation. I've been over much of the southwest, but I didn't know that place existed. Beautiful sky island. Thanks for the tour! That thing about simple food, spot on. I had corn tortillas, cheese and salami, on a hike in the Rincon mountains... I can still taste it, almost forty years later. Tepid water is so amazing when you're hot and thirsty too.

Thanks for sharing! My buddy and I were planning to backpack in the Gila Wilderness and got dumped on by rain before we could get out of the vehicle. So we went back to Silver City and headed west. We spotted the Chiricahua off I-10, saw a road headed across the desert, and took it. We stayed at a great campsite high in the mountains, car camped, day hiked, saw nobody, and had a great completely unplanned adventure. Can’t beat it!
