My priorities were so skewed while I lived in Phoenix(Casa Grande). I just worked and partied. Now, in my 40’s, I do nothing but hike and bike. I live in Rochester, NY now, and I always make time for a hike each weekend. Wish I had hiked more when I lived in Arizona

@@AdventuresofAplusK any time. I know you have a lot of travels in your book, but I highly encourage you to come visit the Driftless Wisconsin area. It's a glacial anomaly along the Mississippi River Valley and it's unforgettable. I live in the La Crosse, WI portion of it. There are amazing hikes on bluffs that tower over the river. They're not mountains by any means, but the bluffs are pretty special and the scenery is unique to this area. Check it out!

What a stunning park. I immediately thought it looked like Bryce but less red - then you rounded it up saying that at the end. Great minds 😉 The big loop trail was beautiful and the smashing rocks into the icy water was very cool. You probably get so bored of me always saying this, but I've only visited the US in the summer (2 trips went into September, but it was as good as summer still), so the idea of southern states like Arizona getting cold enough for ice is a bit mind blowing! Couldn't help but notice the gas stove in the van when you cooked dinner - is that a new purchase ready for the big trip to Alaska?

We could never get bored of your comments! They always make us smile! We were actually super shocked the ice on the water didn’t just shatter instantly. It was thicker than expected. The nights out in this part of Arizona were 20 something degrees. It is crazy how cold it can get! We have actually had that stove almost since we moved into the van. We love to use the induction, but when we are trying to conserve power we use that or a butane stove we have. So I guess in the end we should’ve done a propane stovetop, but we do like that this one can be tucked away when not in use.

Beautiful. Not sure if you have moved on yet, but Johnny Ringo gravesite is right there, as is Ft. Bowie. You are in season to see the Sandhill cranes at the Wilcox playa.

@@AdventuresofAplusK You guys don't miss much. Good job. Not sure if you like museums, but Pima Air and Space museum and the associated Davis-Monthan AFB "boneyard" of over 1000 military aircraft are worth the visit. The hike up Picacho peak is supposedly awesome (I haven't done it).

Full caffine- a must.!! Enjoyed another quality video today. Looks a tad cool there, but pretty, without many tourists. Snowing again in the NE. My way of escaping is to drawing the drapes, glass of wine, and watching the 3 of you explore this vast country. 🥶👍👍🙋‍♂️

Not sure how far ahead of your videos you are, but it looks like you could be headed up through Page, AZ as you make your way to Alaska. If you do, I hope you can check out Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon on your way through. Also the fried avocado at State 48 Tavern in Page is worth a stop. Hope the trip is going well. Safe travels and thanks, as always, for sharing your experiences. You just added Chiricahua to my travel list.

Oh dang we were there at last Thanksgiving, did you made it to Fort Bowie? The AZ parks are giving out little collectable pins for "I Hike for Health" at the visitor center if you have have a reasonable 3-5 miles hike, which you folks have.

Another great video. I still can’t figure out how you guys always seem to be the only ones I these beautiful parks. Question: when you do an 8 mile hike, does Kona stay loose in the van or does she have a crate. I think our dog would find some trouble to get into after about an hour.
@AdventuresofAplusK

We are thankful we can now explore on weekdays, which helps a ton! And starting early and staying late helps. Kona has a crate! She loves her “Kenny” as we call it and we feel much safer having her contained.

This trail was definitely a lot easier than Guadalupe Peak, with about 1/3 of the elevation gain in the same mileage. It’s hard to think back to how hard Guadalupe Peak was because it was snowy and all I remember is trying to not slip since we didn’t have spikes with us. But Guadalupe Peak is very rewarding and worth the challenge!
