Would this nice vetrinarian help an elk (bull) in Payson,AZ?? Looks like a broken ankle possibly dislocated shoulder. He is moving about but not going very far. His limp keeps him from moving out of the neighborhood he was injured in. Is there any type of help for an elk approx 4-5yrs of age? If they can be darted to tranquilize them to remove items off their antlers, why cant they be darted , tranquilized to be looked at in a case like this? Ive already spoken to Gila Co supervisor. Doesnt seem like anything can be done for this bull. He is a nice one. Got injured either during rut season, or possibly hit by a car. Was first seen limping, and bleeding up on his right shoulder in Sept 2024.

This may be a stupid question, but since humans have prions too, why haven’t we naturally developed CWD or something similar to it?
