Yes. While watching TV series, I always felt that Karna had the short end of the stick. But on reading Mahbharat I was disillusioned and realised that the Pandavas suffered more than the Karna. Unlike Karna, Arjuna wasn't born with any gifts, all he achieved on his own from achieving Pasupatastra by impressing Lord Shiva himself.

In actual books by ved vyasa. Arjuna was the best archer. He was invincible, never beaten. Karan was beaten three times before Kurukshetra war by Arjun and then in Kurukshetra war. While on the other hand karan has runaway from battles and was beaten many times by many different people. Arjun could fight with anything. He was the only shield that Pandavs had. While the opposing side. All knows about them. He was savyasachi. Krishna contained his powers in Mahabharta. In Mahabharta after seeing that Viraat roop Arjuna totally dedicated to Krishna's will.Arjun was so powerful and yet so sensitive that he didn't wanna fight his family even though they were evil.

people try to sympathise Karna with his caste and the hardships he has faced. But despite being born in a strong Royal household Arjun has faced lots of hardships in his life but instead of complaining he has made the best out of those as opportunities for himself to improve as a person. He has proved that even if people are not self righteous all the time and not brilliant there should be room for self improvement and character development. That's the reason Pandavas prospered. People often say the Pandavas are not "righteous" as they seemed and was talked about but people forget Pandavas had the power to improve themselves as a person. They can let their ego go away. But then if even Bheema was better than Karna, then :- Why did Srikrishna feel the need to meet Karna before the war and tell him the secret of his birth which did affect Karna's mind and the result was that the enemity about Pandavas in Karna's mind totally vanished ? Why did his mata Kunti meet him before the war and begged for her son's lives ? This meeting ended with Karna giving her the promised that he would not harm any other Pandava but Arjun. Thanks for all replies. At time of Virata war and Kurukshetra war, Bhishma age was around 189 (analogous to 77 in modern) and Arjuna was 90 (analogous to 36-38 in modern yuga). At that age Bhishma stood and fought. So age might be factor due to which Arjun gained upper hand and became best archer, greatest warrior. But we cant compare 2 different instants and situations like Bhishma at his young age and Arjun at his young age. Fact is that Arjun defeated Bhishma in Virata war. That's all...
