ARK: Lost Island TOP 20 Best PVE Base Locations!

Started of at 12, pretty rough location for a starting base, lots of resources but also a lot of danger.. Tamed up a nice 224 ptera and planning to moving to 7 since I absolutely love caves and cliffs so this is perfect for me! Thank you for these amazing locations.

I was staked out on the beaches for the longest time but I've finally decided to move base locations and I found 4 while gliding around on my griffon. Love the centrality of the location, despite as you said the unfortunate proximity to the swamp xD I like that once you put down a behemoth gate and a few walls at the slope, nothing is just gonna casually walk up there. total protection

Yeah it's a great spot, I do hate the Swamp but there are some cool spots to build XD

I started out with a little shack on a beach and then I went to, I forget what number but it was at the 10 min mark and then I got raided by a giga, so I had to move somewhere els, thankfully I just had and argy so I could fly away, so I chose the scorched earth spot and I’m loving it, I tamed up a maewing and I can get from the scorched earth part to the volcano in a minute or less, and rock golems are right at my door which is nice

I’ve spent over 10 hours looking for gigas and never found one and I’m on max difficulty 😂

@@Cosmo918 dang lol, high level ones are difficult to find. Tbh I prefer the carch over the giga though, it’s pretty much just as strong and can get even stronger with it’s blood frenzy. It also has more advantages to other things over the giga like stamina and speed. That’s my opinion though. But yea, I’m on max difficulty and still have trouble finding high levels for both gigas and carch’s.

@@dpeters3398 I have to nearly max level carchas that are breeding I just prefer the gigs cause it has a lot more Stam without level and breeding.

It doesn’t matter if u are far away from the wyverns and the other creatures cause if u have a maewing, it can get u around the map very fast, and just have an argy in a cryopod, if u need it, u have it right on u

I already have my base on #4. I like it a lot. Also, have easy açess to lots of resources and dinos. About 5 sky drops surrounding the base platform area. Central which is important imo on this map.

I also have a base there. Where is your go-to for metal in that area? I am still kinda figuring out all the good resource spawns. So easy to get lost in swamp

I just made mine there too.. nice and easy to gate off too.. and pretty much in the middle of the map.. plus the view is amazing

@@Kamikazibroadcast There is a small cave at the base mountain just across the pond that has plenty of obsidian. That was the only resource I was traveling far away at first then realized it was really close.

It's funny, I almost feel split on this map in regards to base locations. I'm just a PVE guy, but like a place that feels protected from the annoying threats, simple resources, and a view. So Ragnarok's scenic caves are my favorite places to call home. Though Ragnarok had a huge RANGE of unique caves with water in/around them, and plateaus that were naturally protected or easily walled off from wild threats chasing each other through your base. But Lost Island's caves seem to be either straight tube-shaped tunnels, or a 1-3 chambered circle with no water (except #7). And the flat spots, cliffs, or plateaus in the wild all feel EXTREMELY exposed. In terms of biome and creature design though, I REALLY appreciate how they redesigned terrain and spawn points. The 'biomes' aren't pure, large patches of land with a single theme, but flow with the terrain, and each biome has many different looks around the map from blending with the biomes around it. (Except the Snow).

I totally agree! Ragnarok is my favourite map design-wise, i do like Lost Island alot though, it's really nice to see them bring caves back to the game :D

You missed the peninsula in the desert zone it very plain with pretty much all the resources you will need. You also have fast acess to a great cave crate dungeon.
