Ken Ham and his team have a bi-weekly "news" show, reacting to the news stories of the day from a Christian young-earth creation perspective from the Answers in Genesis staff at his Creation Museum.
Aron Ra, Eric Murphy took a break from the 2019 Ark Encounter protest to join Ken, Avery and Bodie as they discuss - Mayflies detected on radar; Florist punished by Washington named Best for 2019; Pastor expelled over marriage; Bishop declares God is female; NASA to search for life's beginnings and more during today's episode of Answers News, broadcast live from the Creation Museum.

@@pirateman1144 piling on here: I’d have to say that those examples are definitely from not reading. For example, I pronounced ‘ego’ like eggo (like waffles) and ‘naïveté’ like ‘nive-ette” for the longest time. I’d postulate that if the word is still recognizable as being an alternative pronunciation to the correct spelling, **that’s** when you can confidently assume that it’s a “read vs heard” situation. If instead the mispronunciation ignores obvious letters or can’t be easily understood as the intended word (ax, pacific, pasketti, etc) that’s more likely to be a mis-hear than a mis-read.

As someone who was a homeschool kid, I can confirm that one of the major reasons I was homeschooled was to keep me away from being taught about evolution. So that we could be properly indoctrinated, basically. The good news is, it didn’t work. Lol! Also, it actually worked out well for me, education wise. If you ignore how misinformed I was about biology, geology, and history. But I was a math major, so I turned out fine. Lol! I’m just learning all the things that were kept from me after the fact.

What people don't understand the reason why there's so many different flood legends around the world is because flash flooding and floods are some of the most common natural disasters. In my hometown of Columbus Ohio. On the Near Westside it's called the Bottoms. Because that part of Columbus was built on a floodplain. The native Americans would avoid building permanent settlements in that area. Up until the dam was built in the late 1950s.There was a major flood on the Westside of Columbus on average every 10 years. The worst occurring in 1913 in terms of loss of life. Anywhere between 93 to 106 people were killed.

They also forget that throughout history water was so important for both drinking and travelling in the more primitive societies that it formed literally the life veins of every important ancient civilisation and the core of all settlements... humans go for oasis, rivers, coastal regions where food, drink and trade opportunities are plentyful. And where you have lots of water for the good, it can just as easily turn for the worse... either through drought (lots of legends about that too) or flood. If the only thing basically any human society EVER has in common is the need for readily available water, what will be the only stories they will all share? Ones about making more humans (childbirth, love, violence born from disagreement who got to be with which woman) and ones about water being the thing bringing the rise and downfall of civilisations... You can learn that even in homeschooling (not that i was homeschooled, it's very rare in Germany as we have mandatory attendance laws)

I was not allowed an education degree, and was censored, for objecting to creationism being taught in school. This was a public state university. I was not allowed to challenge this decision. No lawyer would help me. Professors who looked into my grades being changed after they were posted and being placed on academic probation said, "this is so wrong what they are doing to you. But this is the president of the college and head of department. I can't help you or I'll lose my job and pension.” 49 thousand dollars out the window.

"Henotheism (from Greek ἑνός θεοῦ (henos theou) 'of one god') is the worship of a single, overarching godwhile not denying the existence or possible existence of other lower deities." The ancient hebrews went from polytheist to henotheist to monotheist, and that is written that way in the bible, thats why it eventually goes from "though shall have no other gods before me", to "Thy god is one". The writing reflects that change but they don't admit it And Pagan started as a derogatory word for people other than Romans (like how Jews say Gentile), and it meant 'Country dweller" (so..."hick")...and when the Roman Empire adopted Christianity which is monotheist, "pagan" was still used but it tranfered to mean any polytheist. And in modern times we have retained this Christian Roman meaning to refer to polytheists. Dannu (Dana) was the founding goddess of the Irish even though they worhsipped others she was the main one (worshipping many with one as a primary has its own word I cant recall). And many Greco Roman cults were henotheist.

Aron needs to be a little clearer in his position regarding artwork and intent. It's not about type of art or ideology of the buyer, it's about menu of services. This is why it isn't discrimination for a baker to refuse to make a Swastika cake while it is discrimination to refuse to sell an ordinary birthday cake. The former isn't on the menu so, even though we can safely presume they are capable of making one, they don't have to. Apply this to Aron's stance and he is well within his rights to refuse to make a modified version, but he cannot refuse to sell a regular one on the basis of religion alone. EDIT: Unsurprisingly, Ham makes the same error in his hypothetical.....

31:05 -- "witchcraft" isn't a single religion. Among the many sects or traditions within Wicca or neopaganism, they each follow quite different pantheons and creeds. He may be thinking of something along the lines of Dianic paganism, which leans to goddesses and the female aspects. But it's wholly inaccurate to say that "witchcraft" has a supreme female deity, period. In fact, many forms of neopaganism ascribe equal roles, with both male and female aspects or gods, involved in the act of creation. This aside from restorationist movements which worship gods like Odin or Perun (alongside female goddesses). 32:15 -- God may be male in the Bible, but the Divine Wisdom -- and later the Holy Spirit -- are female in Hebrew, Arabic, and Syriac.. P.S. The Council of Nicaea never addressed the Biblical canon. Just sayin'

Uh, the founding goddess of the Irish people Dannu (Dana)? And many Greco Roman cults and others were Henotheist. "Henotheism (from Greek ἑνός θεοῦ (henos theou) 'of one god') is the worship of a single, overarching godwhile not denying the existence or possible existence of other lower deities." As in how the ancient hebrews went from polytheist to henotheist to monotheist. Pagan started as a derogatory word for people other than Romans (like how Jews say Gentile), and it meant 'Country dweller" (so..."hick")...and when the Roman Empire adopted Christianity which is monotheist, "pagan" was still used but it tranfered to mean any polytheist. And in modern times we have retained this Christian Roman meaning to refer to polytheists.

Although I am a Christian, I would protest the ark, because I feel that it is a shameful waste of money. (Not their money, either--but money from donations and taxpayers...) I personally think that money could have been put to better use. Mr Ham could have given $1 million each to 100 programs that feed the hungry, give medicine for poor sick children, help homeless veterans.....the list of needs is endless! And I think that would be doing the work of God.

29:28 That reminds me of when I got some multiplication wrong and my friend said to blame it on getting a public school education. I countered with, "I learned my times tables at a Christian school." For the record, I was behind in every subject except English when I transferred to public school. The only reason I wasn't behind in English was because I spent all my spare time reading. When I was about 8, I was taught that when we get to heaven we'll know everything so there won't be any need to read books or watch movies in heaven because we'll already know all of that. I was horrified by that - I was determined to enjoy as many books as possible before the Rapture (which I believed could come at any time) cuz I didn't want the books spoiled. I remember praying that the Rapture wouldn't happen until I'd finished the book I was reading at the time. My brother didn't share my love of reading and he was behind in every subject when he transferred to public school. He also had ADHD and couldn't sit still in class. Mom arranged for the teacher to allow him to sit at the back of the class so he could get up and expel a little of his energy without disturbing anyone else. She still insists ADHD is nonsense and it's just kids being energetic.

Yeah, learning your times tables at a Christian school will really screw you up. It's that trinity thing that does it. Three is one and one is three. Or is that the musketeers? Or maybe it's lubricant.

My roommate is from Appleton, WI. I've listened to him and his parents discuss how riverfront property in Appleton may be nice most of the year, but it'll be hell in lakefly season. From what I understand, lakeflies kinda swarm the entire area - even away from the river. But down by the river? It's ridiculously thick.

The Ark, given its measurements in the Bible, could not even have gone to sea, it was too big, it was made of wood and at least 200 feet longer than the largest wooden ship ever built, which itself was unseaworthy due to the warping of wood, leaked, and eventually sank. Apart from that, having one tiny window and filled with pooping animals, either everything on board would have died from poisoning by the build-up of fumes, highly explosive fumes, or the ship would have exploded when somebody went below with an oil lamp!
