This game is very poorly optimized even on the PC, but clearly shows the nut optimization that is done on the consoles in all games, which is to cut or reduce various effects and details so that the game gets to run at misers 20 ~ 30 fps, showing clearly that the PS4 is clearly a waste of time and money.

This is the worst optimized game i've seen in years, on ALL PLATFORMS. Resolution below 720p on consoles, yet run below 30fps most of the time. The PC version runs under around 40-50fps at 1080p with a GTX1080Ti, a graphics card intended for 4K60fps gameplay... This is not the hardwares fault. This is the developers that needs to clean up their mess.

Al. Lopez the games you mentioned are GPU intensive, they dont demand much CPU power at all. Those games see huge improvements in visual fidelity. But ARK needs a lot of CPU power because of it's "spawning in stuff all the time" nature and server constantly telling you where's what. That's the reason tribes are on consoles limited to 250 dinos instead of 500 like on PC and why Battlefield PC servers usually support 2x more players than console servers. AMD Jaguar is pure shit, it was shit when it got released and Microsoft and Sony STILL used it (AMD probably sold it for like $5).

@@falseexe5299 So, what were you expecting? Because there isn't hardware that can run ARK on 4k max settings with more than 50fp, and the game's optimization is not the reason for this. Try running Battlefield V with everything on max, and on 4k. The game isn't bad optimized, it's just TOO heavy. Today, ARK is way better optimized, since it's possible to run it smoothly on Full HD High settings with any medium 4gb graphics card and 12gb RAM. 4k resolution is only a possibility to a few games. The heaviest ones are impossible to run, even if they are optimized.

Just finished playing after almost all day and my PS4 version does not look like that at all, it looks worse then the PC obviously but not like that. I did pretty much everything you could do today, including lots of flying and exploring every single map and other then the water looking less then stellar in some areas and the trees pixelating and such, that yellow aura like effect was nowhere to be seen and thank goodness it wasn't, would have ruined each and every map.

It's understandable why there are so many complaints. It bothers me quite a bit on console to see those blurry bits in the distance. However, Ark is a really well crafted video game with hours and hours of fun that can turn into hundreds of hours of even more fun. Ark is a fun experience and the game even gives you the options for how you want your gameplay experience on your first try. If you have a difficult time on single player survival then you can alter the difficulty and the details listed in the options display before playing. From the start I had hope for this game and yes I am a bit disappointed with the graphics on console but...I still love Ark for what it is. I've been waiting on a open world dinosaur game since the ending of the latest entry of Turok 2008 or whatever and Far Cry 3. Then when Ark Survival Evolved was announced it was even better with elements of survival along with an expansion of dinosaurs and creatures of all kinds. I would give it a 9 or 9.5 out of ten for a review. Great game. Not perfect but enjoyable. My opinion. Feel free to insert yours in the replies below.

PS4 pro and XBOX1 X run at 1080. with adaptive V sync you get 30 fps in areas with lots of dinos / big bases and up in the mountatins you get 60 (although 60 is rare). I can sort of see why it has such a sketchy fps considering how much is going on in the game. imagine a gta lobby of 100 players where people are constantly building up on the map all over the place. our last alpha base was so big it dropped fps to around 15. but it was a monster. i completely get why it does this having played the game a lot. seems to be many people commenting how bad it is having not played it at all.

They're charging $60 for Ark? I bought it for $15 a year and half ago and I have seen NO performance increase, thry only add new creatures. With some tweeting the game runs at a steady 60fps @1440p on a OC'D 1080ti hitting over 2000mhz and hovering in the high 1900s minimum! It still looks good but Ultra runs into the 40s, 4k will dip to the low 30fps. The gpu is hitting over 14 teraflops.

I have a GTX 1070 and I play on max settings except for pointless settings which kill frames and do nothing else which are on high and I get over 60 fps. Much more optimised than when Early Access launched, although there still is a little bit of work to do to make this game run better.

Yeah, i remember buying ark for ps4 first and i though it looked fine and didn't think much of the graphics and then like a year ago i decided to get it for pc cause it was on sale on steam, and i played on pc for a while, then tried it on ps4 again and oh god, the difference i felt, like i was playing a high budget game on pc to extreme low budget game on the ps4.
