Hello, I know this is old now so not fully expecting a reply, just curious if you have or may do a video of this type (simple pen) That includes water and land for amphibians such as otters and good area suggestions to do so Also with how you were doing the fences into the ground does the clipping setting need to be on for that?

Yes clipping was on for this video, but with the new homestead update im sure terrain clipping is on by default to help make neater builds, yes i will be going back to ark soon i just need to set up a server then i will look at doing a base like you described.

Brainybren hmm I can’t say as to if clipping is naturally on any more, I’d love it if you could possibly to do something similar as I described without clipping if possible?

@@Kipdav yea will do pal easiest thing to do to avoid the clipping would be to reverse the build process, instead of building down build up from the sea floor then clipping is not a problem.

Does this apply to metal walls too? I’m trying and it’s says that the walls are being obstructed by the floor.

you need to disable structure collision on your server or single player settings, most servers run with this disable to allow neat builds

When I try to place pillars they bulge out of the ceiling too much, and I can’t continue my ceiling any further than 2? Can anyone answer why this happens

on ceilings there are 3 snap points a bottom a center and a top you are connected to the top snap point if its bulging out try placing a ceiling out then place a pillar under neath it and work down instead of up it should eliminate them buldges. and the reason you cannot continue outs id cause one of your pillars is on the top snap point and the one below is on the bottom snap point this creates a gap you cannot see which causes insatiability in the build.

Brainybren oh I see now, yeah it all worked out. I did your design except with behemoth gates but when I’m placing walls there are gaps because it’s too small to place a wall, but how did you do it? I’m afraid mega piranhas will come in and slowly kill my buddies

@@emilahmed9527 If you start from each floor tile and place walls down there shouldnt be any gaps, try this add a foundation at the bottom of 1 pillar if it snaps in neatly then do the same on the other pillars and add your walls of them and go walls up so to speak.

Brainybren ok I’ll have to try that out tomorrow and I’ll tell you if it works. A probably very noob question but I can’t seem to find how to make fences.. only the fence foundation. Anyways I’d just also wanna say thanks for responding to my questions

Brainybren got the ghost cheat to work thx. for some reason when i go below it still shows red and obstructed when i try to play wall. did the block this ability?

yea theres a setting on my server something like allow buildings to clip through terrain you must have this setting disabled.

i don't understand from the very beginning what the fence is for with the door this doesn't make sense

Not sure what you mean by that? The fence foundation is there to allow you to clip a gate to the foundation so you can get into the pen, 2 back in the day gates would not naturally clip to foundations and the only way to get them on neat and straight was to use a fence foundation as shown in this video.
