Ark: Valguero - How to Build a Castle with dino pens - Full Metal Castle Base Design (No Mods)

I was looking at some military bases online like the command bunker I built on Extinction a while ago and saw this base that had a landing strip protected by high walls with towers.
I really like the concept and thought it would be a great place to house Quetzalcoatlus and bring in materials.
Having the guns protecting the base just adds to the overall look of the base but I don't think it would hold up in an official PVP battle.
As a PVE base I think this would be a cool place to live, there is room for some large dinos, there is a hatchery and crafting areas and 2 indy forges under the landing strip so you can easily transfer metal from you dinos.
I have played on a few PvE servers that had a lot of trolls on them in the past and this place would at least hold up to creatures being pulled to your base or dino bombs :)
The Ark Genesis DLC brings new structures to the game along with a whole host of new dinos.

I am going to make some 'Best base location on Genesis' videos as well because my Ragnarok and Valguero videos have done quite well.

This House was built on official settings with no mods so it can be built on Ark Survival Evolved Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Ark Survival Evolved has amazing building mechanics, there are endless ways to design and build your base.

Thanks man, I have hundreds of things I want to build and files full of pics that I can refer to for historical builds or just bits of architecture I have seen that I would like to try and recreate. I try to think about what base designs would be useful and look good so that people would enjoy recreating them. I also think YT kind of dictates builds some times, because I would like to grow the channel I try to mix in some smaller builds that people could farm for and build in a night and I think they are more popular in the long run. I still like to make massive sprawling bases though, that's why I started to do so many speed builds I could record 7 hours of footage and take 4 or 5 days editing for a full tutorial :) I don't play at all any more really, just build edit a video upload it and on to the next build. I had over 4k hours in Ark before I really started the channel though and I spend a lot of time exploring and finding good base locations. If the game could handle it I would build entier cities lol

Thanks :) I am not too sure tbh, I think around 10% of the people that watch will like a video on average but yeah this one is a little low, could be the low video resolution putting people off? KZbin is slow on the processing this weekend. I have about 14% average views from subs and 60% from people browsing and searching. Maybe a lot of people that watch are not signed in to YT so they don't hit the like button? KZbin is an odd place

@@E_M_C_2 I am no expert on pvp but If you are on an unofficial server you do not have to worry about all the exploiting and such :) I like the idea of using triangle foundations and building walls and doorways on all 3 sides so the first few layers of the interior base walls are honeycombed, just to make the prosses of blowing through them take a lot of c4 and time. Use cryo pods to bring dinos to the interior and only use door frames no dino gates on that section. I have seen internal miniguns cause people problems if they blow the walls with c4 and come in on foot. Also, try using the dino leach inside you base and walls, gather some Dimorphodon (they will just target players not mounts) have them on wander and aggressive they will not leave the dino leash area. You can have them inside the base between walls they will not leave the area when you are offline, I experimented with this idea and it works well. They could be pulled to the edge of the leach area and killed but if they are between walls the initial shock of them pouncing on you when you blow through could cause some damage. Arthropluera on turret mode spit poison and melt armour. I would make the interior of the base a compleat death trap.

So it could hold up with more guns, I have hit 75 out of 100 in most areas so there is still room. Also, I am not too sure the 4 Xwalls are a Good Idea for PVP thats a big open space once they are down although the hp is quite high, maybe layered 4x walls would be good?

@@krasi_kk U PVP fellas crack me up. This is a pve build channel. Never has he said that his builds are for pvp. Someone else did and that's just his opinion. Now make some modifications to this build and yeah, I could see it being formidable to raid. More turrets, layered walls, etc, etc. Thing is, on a public server this place would be a major target for anyone and everyone looking for a score. Thats why its a pve build. Jeesh

You get tham as loot for killing the Ape boss you can also paint any boss flags in other colours with dye
