The lateral was so unexpected that it even shorted out the announcer's brain- right after Collins' run, he asks if a defender touched the ball first- of course that doesn't matter who touches it, since a lateral is a live ball. He must've been thinking about punt coverage.

What a great QB duel. Brandon Allen was throwing with pinpoint accuracy, while Swag Kelly with his running and throwing abilities. Neither defense played great either. Some of the craziest stuff happens like the FG block that could have won in regulation, the insane Hunter Henry Heave, and then the ballsy call to go for two and the win on the road. Allen just bulldozes into the endzone and was knocked out for about a minute.

WPS!!! One of the most exciting wins for UA. I'm a diehard HOG fan, and it'd great to see--despite all the adversity/injuries this year--that the Hogs are finding ways to win games; instead of finding ways to lose them (as they've done in the past). I just wish UA had more of a pass rush. I can only wonder how the season might've gone if J Will (and the good receivers) hadn't gotten injured. GO HOGS!!! WPS!!!

Three years late sharing this, but me and other fans in El Dorado/Union County missed out on all that happened after the Hunter heave. The CBS affiliate for the area is based in North Louisiana and they went to commercial while the Hunter heave play was being reviewed. They planned on airing a special on the local station that served as buildup for the Bama-LSU game that night (planned on doing it at a certain time regardless of how long the Hogs/Rebels game lasted) and they kept airing commercials on TV and fans in the area didn't see the ending. Fortunately, I was smart enough to put it on the radio and that's how I caught the ending. After the game, my dad called me thinking we lost and I told him we won. People from El Dorado (and maybe Hog fans in North Louisiana; idk) went on the TV station's Facebook page and blasted them left and right for the long commercial break. It was our version of the Heidi Bowl.

Oh man that's a tough one. This one had the more wacky ending, but that 2007 LSU game was something special, too. I'd probably give the LSU game the slight edge since they were #1.
@andysommers40167 жыл бұрын
The "Henry Heave" will always go down in Arkansas football history as one of the greatest wins, but I think that 2007 game vs. LSU was not only an upset, but a classic that Arkansas and college football fans still talk about 10 years later.

WARMACHINE2013 Yeah. It was the defending national champs and revenge from a game that ruined the Hogs season the year before. If I was an Arkansas fan in 1999 and attended the game against Tennessee, I would've helped with the goalposts. My favorite all-time win as an Auburn fan is, believe it or not, not the championship game in 2010 or any game of that season, but the 2013 Kick-Six game against Alabama.

can someone explain to me laterals? they're confusing. So when do you know if the ball is dead and or if its a lateral?
@ZombieSlay3r559 жыл бұрын
As long as the player isn't down, eg the knee touching the ground, you can throw the ball back words and regardless if the ball hits the ground, it's a live ball.
@nrod4119 жыл бұрын
+Evan DeWitt so how come they allowed the ball to touch the ground? is it a special occasion for laterals?
@HidInChrist39 жыл бұрын
+Nicholas Rodriguez yes, it's kind of viewed as a fumble in terms of hitting the ground and still being live. Although viewed similarly, it should not be confused with a fumble. Hope that makes sense.
@jessehorton20379 жыл бұрын
+Nicholas Rodriguez If you watch closely, Dan Skipper bats the ball away from an ole miss defender. As I understand it, if an ole miss player had touched it would have been a fumble by the offense recovered by the offense and there for would have been dead when Collins touched it. Since the defense didn't touch it, it was never a "fumble". Just a lateral.

@WARMACHINE20139 жыл бұрын
+John Bales They were too busy getting about 10 penalties a game. Cut that number down and improved the red zone offense and here you go. The defense is concerning because their tackling was just awful at times this game, but I got faith Smith can get it turned around. I mean hell, they were just #10 in total defense last year.
