I've read alot of comments that I should've emphasized on her increased range. I could've but I thought it was really obvious enough and I did say that was part of what she was known for on her introduction. I do admit this was a mistake and I should've added more of my opinion on her extended range. To make up for this, here's one good usage I found for Platinum in one of the hardest story stage which is H6-4. If you looked at the background video, I placed Platinum at the top right, usually rapid fire snipers are placed 1-tile forward so they can reach the spawns from the top right enemy spawn point. When snipers are positioned that way, this comes with a downside of using the healer behind facing to the left. Meanwhile, due to Platinum's range extension, she can be placed at the top right and have a medic at her front, due to the good medic position, it can be an AOE medic and face downwards.

As an admittedly biased Platinum fan, some of my thoughts: One of the reasons I think she gets a bad rep is that figuring out how she's good (beyond just the extra range) requires taking a look at the actual numbers and doing some math, while other Snipers tend to be more upfront, like Exu's high hitcount, or BP's multitarget and Arts damage. BP's Arts damage also tends to make people overlook Plat's anti-armor abilities, since Arts damage is the default for dealing with armor normally, even though BP's Arts damage is actually fairly low. And since Platinum's playing the numbers game, she also needs a fair amount of investment--not "e2 or bust" by any means, but increases that look small on paper end up having a much bigger effect in practice. In my experience, she pairs extremely well with Defense debuffers, like Meteor and Ifrit. While they would help other fast Snipers deal with light to medium armored enemies better, Platinum can already handle those on her own. She only starts running into problems against heavier armor, but with a Defense debuffer or two, she'll be able to kill pretty much anything (though Ifrit normally handles heavy armor just fine on her own). Regarding her range, while most of the time it's viewed as letting her reach further forward, it's also important that it lets her be placed further back like you mentioned. Plat can use tiles that would otherwise have gone to waste due to being too far away, or free up one in a good location for another unit to use. One of the nuisances using her is that, due to frames affecting attack speed, sometimes her damage boost from her talent wobbles a bit when she's attacking constantly. It's generally not a big deal, but it does happen. Also, when it comes to her windup, I've found that her talent really helps. I often put Plat down as my first or second unit, and in the early stages of most maps enemies come at you very slowly, allowing her first attack on each enemy to get the full boost from her talent. Since she has such a head start on sp, she generally gets her s2 up by the time the more dangerous or numerous enemies come.

platinum's strongest point is her versatility. she's a jack of all trade with no enemies shes strong against nor weak against. she can oneshot lower tier enemies and still deal hefty chunks against armored enemies thanks to her close to 1k atk stat after buff (and close to 2k with talent). she prioritize drones to keep your base safe, she will take down even armored ones. theres just nothing platinum cant kill. you can bring her to most maps and she will get the job done. if you want a general use sniper then she's a good unit to invest on. the only scenario where she doesnt perform as well as other snipers is the kind of stage where theres massive swarm of low hp snails/spiders. her massive damage is wasted on those low hp mobs and her decreased atk speed isnt helping much.

Her S2 +1 range is nothing to sneeze at either, really great on certain maps e.g 5-7 she can take out frost drones quick while safely out of range of the mages walking through, more obvious e.g. is any annihilation map, in some phases she outperforms all other snipers, including apple pie

The main thing I've noted for her is consistency. She doesn't have a "delete this now" button like Exusiai but that range lets her cover places others can't reach and she just keeps shooting with no need for attention. As a result I don't often have star moments when I say "Platinum won me that map" (aside from when her range lets me do something clever) but I never feel bad bringing her as a second sniper.

I want Platinum for this reason. I already have Exusiai and Blue Poison for their crazy damage spikes and crowd control, but their best use isn't for steady sustain or certain shenanigans like Frost Drones where even Jessica can outkill Exusiai. Other rapid fire archetypes are for sprints. Platinum is an endurance runner and can't really be interchanged, even by my new favorite "Sniper" Magallan...

Great job as always. I like how the comparison is made not by factoring in the extra range gain from her s2 activation but by damage alone, to narrow down the uncontrollable experiment group. Practical usage wise, her extra range gained from s2 activation play a very appealing factor in her placement, and I believe we all should be aware as part of the reason when or when not to use Platinum, too. Regardless, if she is your sole AA Sniper, do not hesitate to raise her. Platinum is great at her job and all the more!

I think this is very important to take note that Platinium might be the only unit that dps doesnt decrese while being chilled, which can be good in some cases! I personally use BP and Platinum both as i dont have Exu and i dont see it changing until i'll get Exu anyway, Platinium and BP both work well for me and they both have thier advantages, tho i definitely see myself using BP more often thanks to higher need of AOE damage as primary sniper. I wonder if we'll get in future a character that slows down attackspeed but increses damage modifier or something which would be clear synergy with Platinium. Plus i think Platinum have one of the best designs in the entire game.

I think Platinum is one of the best-designed Snipers, because of how defence works. Defence reduces physical damage by a flat amount. Anything beyond that amount goes straight through. Which means that when it comes to operators who deal physical damage what you want is high attack damage and low attack speed, to maximize the percentage of their dps that isn't blocked by the enemy's defence. That's exactly what Platinum does. She lowers her attack speed and increases her attack damage, with her talent boosting her damage even further. The result is deceptively high dps against everything but the sturdiest of enemies (who you should be killing with Casters or arts Guards anyway). This is in direct contrast to Exusiai, whose dps is admittedly ridiculous but who gets crippled by enemies who have halfway decent defence (note, Exusiai is extremely strong even with this downside). People look at the reduced attack speed and think Platinum is handicapping herself, but the truth is Platinum is optimized to abuse the way physical damage interacts with defence.

I use Platinum and Exu as Main Sniper, and the thing that kinda gimp her IMO was long windup time for her Pegasus to activate On Long Map like Annahilatio its never an Issue, but for short fast paced fight I feel shes always not live up to her full potential Her Pegasus skills also made her not ideal as Reative sniper or transition sniper (where you replace fast sniper with more expensive ranged unit) I use her mainly in Annahilatio which in some cases I feel Platinum outshine my Exusiai.

On the forward square, about 1 down and 5 left of the spawn point, she can sit comfortably in my medics range while just picking off nearly all the enemies that like to pile in from the left and stand around. All while still guarding the lane from drones and the runners from the lower left.

Awesome video of my favorite sniper! I had Exu and BP from rerolling, pulled Platinum some time later and have all 3 E2, the range increase is so good for covering certain maps where other snipers wouldn't reach. She's less useful before chapter 4 because maps end too quickly for her skill, but range increase is too good later, and Platinum has good damage and better HP/def than BP

Platinums biggest strength is that even though other snipers can do better than her in specific scenarios, she’s decently good in ALL scenarios. She deals really high damage against low hp and defense units (which is actually really nice against wraiths) and scales surprisingly well against tankier enemies. Plus with her talent and skills, as mentioned, she can be a GODSEND on icy levels since she doesn’t have to have high aspd to deal high dps. A nice way to summarize her is a CONSISTENTLY strong single target archer for almost any map, falling short to other operators only in specific scenarios when you need more things than she can offer such as arts damage or a ton of burst. She’s much more suited for slow but constant dps that is quite high across a broad variety of enemy types. The increased range is also one thing that almost no other snipers have so there are niche cases where ONLY she can end up helping out.

I got her in my tutorial roll, so she has a special place in my heart. She is in my top 3 of most used units and I have only her as ST sniper. I use her in tandem with meteorite, they synergize well with each other, since meteorite kills off the small fry, while Platinium takes care of drones and elite opponents. I noticed that deploying her more earlier can be a huge game changer, because sometimes drones leak when her buff isnt up yet, so for me the dps increase was always visible. She also pairs well with Manticore, since thanks to Manticore she can get more hits in and Manticore can kill the small fry. I also like that both of them get stronger thanks to their talent and attacking slower through their skills, giving them a common theme.

one thing you forgot (which I don't blame you for, I don't think anyone remembers that these things exist lol) is anti-air tiles. AA tiles increase the damage a unit does to air, while decreasing their attack speed. when you factor in that a slower attack speed buffs platinum's attack.... I generally bring her anyway because she covers for exusiai's weakness (armour), and many maps call for 2 ST snipers anyway, but any map with AA tiles, even if I only bring one sniper, I pick platinum over anyone else. her synergy with that tile is just too good.

Platinum is my operator and assistant!! I find her quite nice in annihilation in between waves. Though I recently switched out assistants I don't regret S2M3 her at all. I always thought her extended range and 200% attack along with her passive outweighed the speed debuff. I don't know if Angelina would help or hurt her. I just got meteorite to S1M3 and should be working on Apple pie E2 but Platinum is always a reliable archer for me. I don't have poison and until they add the other archers who knows. Though I think I have a solid enough roster other than another tank so at this point its just collecting. Thanks for the showcase and information!

One thing to take into account is her atk range. U can use her to cover a remote position where the usual sniper cant and she doesn't need E2 to do that unlike Meteorite. Or u can take advance of it and use her as a secondary dps behind u main dps and she can still hit the target. And due to her talent, i feel she's pretty good at sniping anything go pass your main dps.

Plat's coming to the shop at global and I was wondering if I should buy her cause I got Exu as my primary but there are stages that need 2 and my only other decent AA sniper is GreyThroat but she's basically just a budget Exu so I don't really feel like investing into her, and I thought that BlueP was just strictly superior to Plat but I'm happy to see that that's way more situational actually, though I suppose it is on the rarer side to only have 1 attack target but still she isn't _that_ far behind BlueP even while she has 2 targets, so I guess I will buy her unless she comes home as my guarantee on the banner. Plus not only is she an amazing waifu, that swimsuit skin of hers is just stunning.

Wasn't wrong on picking her as my 1st E2 operator. Until now on ch5 and annahilation 3, she still performs good in taking out drones and low armor units

I have her but didn't upgrade her yet. I just use BP and Meteor as my main snipers and they can do the job quite well. Plat might still be useful in some stages, and she doesn't get oneshot by literally everything like BP, but don't have any plans to raise her at the moment.

Personally, I found Platinum to be very good for me. Considering she was the 2nd 5 star I got, I built her early game. She has helped me multiple times with her S2 shooting down certain enemies that are out of range of my other operators.

I'm a bit surprised that her extra range is not highlighted as much as I expected. Her having extra range means she deals even more damage since she can hit enemies from afar before other snipers do. Anyway, great review as usual, I really like Platinum

Well, it's still worth mentioning the fact that it's her advantage, might as well an extra damage. Like how you highlighted BP targetting 2 enemies and having arts dmg that boosted her dps while Plat does boost her dps by attacking 1 tile in advance.

Both are good imo. Frostleaf s1 is generally my default, for when I want to just use her as a ranged Guard with a bit of slow on the side. S2 is for when I have more specific plans for her slow, or need burstier damage. Get s1 to m1 at least, since that reduces the sp cost so she can spam it more.

I didn't see you mention the concern about s2 warm-up time so lemme add something here. At m3 (which you definitely should aim for), s2 charge up in 50sec. In most stages, if you drop her right after vanguards that time should be filled with the easiest enemies like soldier/dog/slug etc that can be easily dealt with by your VGs. (M3 Platinum has s2 up in CE-5 at kill count 7, when she's deployed right at the start). That also means, in stages where there's heavy initial pressures (i.e. 5-7), Platinum could struggle a bit, and you might want to consider bring someone else if your Platinum is not leveled enough.

Isn't 5-7 just drop multiple vanguards in the front? Hmmm, I thought that was the norm. I used her in H6-4 where there's also a bad initial rush with tons of wolves but I solved it with Waai Fu. I don't think every single operator needs to be super strong individually when there's 12 other slots. I do think your concern is valid, Platinum is indeed bad on some maps but majority of them can be worked around with.

she is the best in long map like Annihilation, and especially Annihilation 2, where she can shoot the red samurai to death before he reaches our defense. No other sniper at same level can do that. And as Dreamy showed, in chill debuff maps. Otherwise, she rather loses most of the time to Blue Poison. Blue Poison is just more versatile.

i just get platinun yesterday and tested her today. Ngl, she is actually a very good not excellent sniper. I just more and more confused why people said that platinum is garbage. S2 long cooldown? Ha! During the run she always activate her s2 before 10 enemies defeated without the help of ptilo. She just fail short because BP have art damage. I kinda curious for platinum x greythroat comparison since both of them deal physical and both of them are polar opposite in term of talent.
