This song really does fit the character progression of the player character the Doctor, exactly in the way you described it: (The way the song is written is pretty amazing, in that way, packed with characterization) it starts out beautiful and soft with just Amiya (one of the first things the Doctor does is save Amiya and she sees them as her goofy yet weak but also kind savior) visualizing how she sees the Doctor then the Doctor becomes the Ghost of Babel - the strategist for the exiled Demon Queen (Theresa) known for being able to pull a win no matter the difficulty and no matter the cost, effectively controlling who lives and who dies on both sides of the battle, culminating in major moral dilemmas then, after the Doctor loses their memory and Amiya has confronted both the positives and negatives of the Doctor's past, she still decides to accompany them with hope that they can move forward and improve the world together

Spoiler basically the crown is called "Civilight Eterna" and it is the manifestation of the powers of the lord of fiends with the current lord of fiends being Amiya after she was transferred the crown when she was young by the previous lord of fiends Theresa while the latter was dying.

Theresa's not the main bad guy, The doctor would fit that desceiption more, at least when he had his memories. Though tbh there really isn't truly any evil character in ak

but the Doctor is the player character and at times Theresa's goals came into major conflict with the player character's so maybe not main "bad guy" but definitely "biggest source of conflict"

@@NikkiTheViolist Just because the player sees the story through the Doctor's eyes doesn't mean the Doctor himself can't be the antagonist. He _is_ until he loses his memory, at the time of Babel. And no purpose, no “good intentions” or other bullshit justifies his betrayal. And even if he is under outside influence (Priestess....hm) - it doesn't change anything, but only adds another culprit. So he's just as much an antagonist as Theresis. *But I repeat - only before the “loss” of memory, after that he is a completely different character.*

@@lloleolom *PFTT, outside influence is most likely a MASSIVE understatement, BB-8 After Operations cutscene and BB-ST-3: End of Souls both have really important dialog from the Oracle, who is pre-Babel Doctor, if you know what I'm talking about, I'd say the real culprit is Priestess, NOT Doctor. If anything, It seems to be more so that Priestess is a DIRECT CONTROLLING INFLUENCE. So it would REMOVE the Doctor as a culprit.*

theresa :( also theresa's basically the one who got the whole precursor to rhodes island started in the first place. she does appear in ch14 as an antagonist, but it's because her race (sarkaz) still suffer in what's for all intents and purposes the afterlife and she wants to stop that the crown in particular is "civilight eterna" and was actually created by doctor's race. the sarkaz found it a long time ago after the doctor's race arrived on terra (the sarkaz are actually native to terra, the doctor isn't) and it has some special powers that's since been passed inherited through a long line of sarkaz rulers, "lord of fiends" for the next arknights song, i suggest "海洋的哺養" from the path of life event. it's the lobby/trailer theme for the next chapter in the seaborn (under tides, stultifera navis) plotline. event just ran in global i continue requestion taishi's "the shadows." the "original" youtube upload had an error and was up for so long that when it was removed and uploaded without the error, a lot of people felt the version with the error (which was also reuploaded) added a lot to it, so consider listening to the one specifically marked as "(with error)", or at least read the comments

*If you actually pay attention to certain dialog in the Babel event, one could see certain things hinting at the fact that PRIESTESS is the true bad guy, one that's only mentioned briefly by the Oracle in BB-ST-3: End of Souls. And she's not talked about in a positive matter all that much, if at ALL. BB-8 After Operations cutscene also has really concerning dialog from the Oracle, and just in case most people forgot this, the Oracle is pre-Babel Doctor.*
