“This was my father’s tank. Have used it for years. Has tons of sentimental value!” Next clip.... “so I cut the tank open...”. Lol

LOL, good point! Yeah it was painful to have to cut it open but there was no way to really inspect the inside

Hey Chris - thanks for the comparison of these 'bead seaters'. I just now (well, yesterday, to be exact) 'discovered' these units while I was searching the net/YT for replacement tires for my yard cart & wheelbarrow. I ended up buying a 10 gallon version from Amazon for $67. I figure it's money well spent. My local tire shop wanted $10 EACH for 5 tires that have lost their bead due to my neglect of them since last fall. I tried using the 'ratchet method' & I (he says sheepishly) 'pretty much gave up' and decided I'd rather relax in my back yard hammock instead. And then honestly, I balked at the 'lighting/igniting of a burst of hair spray' method. And since my tires were already kinda dry-rotted, I decided to either buy new tires already mounted on wheels (the easiest way, for sure) or buy $6 inner tubes to breath a few more months of life back into those old tires. SO... I'm now sitting in my hammock, surrounded by several old yard/garden tires that have new inner tubes, yet still have beads that wont seal. I hope to report back some good news by the weekend... which is when I *should* be receiving my brand-spanking new, bright yellow, Chinese-made

Andy Roid thanks for the subscribe! I think the 10 gallon will be a bit overkill for something that small, but ultimately will be a great piece to have for any Tire in the future. You can also use it as an air tank which is nice. I used my Galaxy S7 phone camera to record it. Nothing fancy. I would suggest maybe securing the wheelbarrow wheel to something before blasting it. This thing might want to just blow it away! LOL. Good luck and let me know how you make out

Both these tanks are missing skid runners which is quite negligent in the manufacture of these tanks . Rubbing these tanks onto concrete floors will grind the metal thin which could eventually lead to a tank explosion . Use a strong adhesive and glue thick rubber or nylon pad to a runner less tank .

I agree. They should definitely have Runners on the bottom. If I remember right I mentioned it in the video

Tanks that are rated and certified are air pressure vessels , them are the ones to purchase ! Not well publicized, these tire bead seating have usage expiration dates on them !

Would you recommend a 5 gallon or the 10 gallon ?

Tanks usually start leaking good from rust.

That would suck if you were to die and not be reimbursed

Well yeah, especially if you had a wife and kids at home that rely on you.

Well it's safer than starting fluid! I change my tires 140 bucks for all 4 and use a bubble balancer.

swap the blow off valve,valves and gauge for $50EXTRA "if that" and you got a quality bead seater for $120ish

Agreed!

Shouldn’t keep a tank pressurized over an extended period of time.
@NoNonsenseKnowHow3 жыл бұрын
Why?
@NoNonsenseKnowHow3 жыл бұрын
I'd have to disagree with that. Tanks are designed to be under pressure. If anything pressurizing and depressurizing cycles will have more ill effect due to expansion and contraction weakening the metal.

Thanks for the video, I just wanted to see what a bead seater actually was lol. Received a Northern Tool email advertising the Cheetah for $150, not that I need one. Thumbs up though!

I wanted to watch the video to see the performance. But ended up getting some safety video and disclaimers. What a bunch of crap.
