I have watched this many times over now, since I am planning to make one myself. Although much cheaper than this. The moldings are too expensive, and I will have to make do with something smaller instead. I need to look for the right kinda finials for the gopuram top. I haven't found these at my HD, gonna try Lowe's, maybe they do.

Great Job.I am planning to start the project with the your video as reference.Really your family inspired me to do this project. I had a couple of questions 1)what is the length of the plywood at 3:21sec for joining both the pieces...? 2) what is the length of the plywood at 3:51seconds..?
@ArkWorks2 жыл бұрын
Hello, 24 inches at 3:21 and top plywood at 3:51 is around 40 inches I think, it all depends on how much space you have and what size you want to build, I suggest figure out your space and then build size it accordingly, cut the material as you go along, don't cut all at once. good luck!

Our cabinets are 24 inches in deep and 12 inches height. Top and Bottom Plywoods length should be based on your space, they can be adjusted to your needs. I think we have 40 to 42 inches space next to our window in the room, so we made it to fit in that space. Hope this helps.

Great work by engaging the kids. Great effort. I have few suggestions though. I do similar kind of stuff so thought I should share my points. 1. You all have skills so upgrade the tools - Regular Miter saw to a sliding double bevel miter saw. 2. Use nailer instead of nail and hammer, as it is time consuming, while nail guns with a comperssor are fast and literally invisible. 3. Mahogony is a bit dark color so if you all use gold paint ($2 per small bottle in Walmart) on the special designs on the sides, on the Gopura Kalasam and on the door decorations, they will look spectacular. 4. Last but not the least, for the door use some cabinet hinges which are very easy to install and look professional. Overall a great product, excellent commentary. Keep up the good work.
@ArkWorks3 жыл бұрын
Hello Murali, Thanks for valuable suggestions. It will be helpful for the people planning to build Mandir. That was our first detail project, we started with vague idea and figured out things in the process. Everything we did on that project was new to us :-), Thanks for watching and taking time to provide suggestions. You should start a you tube channel if you are doing similar projects :-)
@MuraliRamachandran3 жыл бұрын
@@ArkWorks Thanks for the suggestion. I build only for the temple we manage here in Richmond and of course for my home. I will definitely consider your suggestion. Convey my regards to the kids, by keeping them engaged you are passing not only the skill but also our tradition from our Mother land.
