What chime is compatible with the doorbell? How much voltage is required for the chime?

Hi Michael James, our Arlo Chime 2 (AC2001) is compatible with Arlo Video Doorbell and can be connected directly to the Wi-Fi network, so it doesn't need any base station. AC Adapter Input is 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz. If my Arlo essential video doorbell comes with a battery but I want to hook it up to the mains can I leave the battery in there so it will keep recording if there's a powercut? Or will it cause a fire?

I noticed you changed the arlo pro where you can't adjust the sound anymore. Can you change it back so I can get less videos without the subscription?

My old door bell works prior to removing. After installing my Arlo, there's no power to the Arlo door bell. (note, i never shut down the power at the circuit box at anytime)

If you have an existing wired doorbell then you are in for some pain. The camera will not work with UK door chimes out of the box (voltage too low), and good luck finding an adequate 24v door chime in the UK. I have no way of laying in new cables to the door bell. I either use the video door bell and ditch the mechanical door bell (replace the transformer) or ditch the new video door bell and carry on using the mechanical door bell. Seriously disappointing that this was not apparent at the point of sale on Amazon.

Your “support” don’t reply after a support ticket has been raised!! I have waited for several days and heard NOTHING, I submitted my ticket on 30 Jan 2024 and it’s now 4 February 2024 and still NO answer!!! Maybe your support ignored it because I criticised your support/website/products and this stupid Essential Doorbell Camera!!

@@ArloSmartHomeUK I blamed everything but the Arlo and upgraded my router, doorbell box, and check cables and voltage. I accepted i didn't know how to set it up and paid someone to fix it to no avail.

Hi Strider whiston - the Arlo Video Doorbell Wired requires a transformer with a voltage between 16-24V AC, as it needs to be wired to an existing chime in order to function. Alternatively, you can install your Arlo Video Doorbell Wired without an existing doorbell or chime by using a plug-in AC transformer that provides 16-24V AC, with at least 1A output. Keep in mind that Arlo Video Doorbells Wired purchased in Europe come with a doorbell transformer in the box. The doorbell transformer is 24V AC and is meant to replace your existing doorbell transformer. This is because many doorbell transformers in Europe are 12V AC, which does not provide enough power for your Arlo Video Doorbell. The Arlo Video Doorbell Wireless, on the other hand, doesn't need to be hardwired as it operates on battery power; even when optionally hardwired to an existing chime, it still uses battery power. We couldn't see any white lights even though the doorbell works just perfectly fine.
