Under "flexible tutors" I totally forgot to add Sunforger, oops! Sunforger is one of the best cards in the deck as it pumps / draws cards off Wyleth, the precon is loaded with tutor targets, and it pairs wonderfully with equip cost reducers like Brass Squire. Sunforger gets even stronger once you add additional cost reducers such as Puresteel Paladin.

Is it not also a "Surprise I win" card? Do you want three of those? (Plus becoming the Arch Enemy of the table once you use it.)

This upgrade video really didn't hit as well as past iterations. I love your stuff Tomer, I even built your Gavi upgrade, but this new video feels a bit watered down. I really liked it when you went over every change in the decks, as it helped me recognize card's synergies and values. Going back to Gavi; your explanation of Ephara made me see the value in those effects for her. I do realize you have more obligations now running this entire channel though, and I will continue to love and support the content regardless of how it's presented.

Yeah this one was produced a lot faster than before since I have a lot more on my plate, but next precon will have a card for card upgrade explanation.

Thoughts on Laccolith Rig? Cheap Aura (budget and mana wise). Allows for political play. Allows Wyleth to be removal for creatures that won't normally enter the fray. Or possibly Delif's Cube (political attacks / repeatable regenerate)
@tzarl4 жыл бұрын
I'm fairly sure reason the precon has 40 lands is that almost every other precon has had 40 lands. WOTC generally likes to err more on the side of players getting more than enough lands over not getting enough. I also guess that wizards goes for 40 lands with the expectation that players will naturally cut lands when maybe they shouldn't, and a deck going from 40 o 38 is still functional while a deck with 36 going to 34 is going to struggle if it isn't built with that low a land count in mind.

Nah, just being cheap as usual. Granted, these are $20 precons, but when the reprint is significantly worse than the other one and the Zendikar Rising ones. They could have at least upgraded the Manabase for this one

@@jasonkorf7700 it just baffles me like... they're basically strictly worse than ANY etb tapped dual, they could have been anything. it's not even about being cheap, just a really weird decision. whoever built these was on some shit.

I'm curious on why no ember cleave. It seems like we would be better suited to put it in than sword of fire and ice. Hexproof deals with bounce/control indestructible deals with most of reds options, ember cleve deals with an opponent likely in one shot. To me one should focus on giving this hexproof and indestructible. Then on trample and death touch. Then on getting massive/infect. It feels like you are trying to play far/nice rather than actually trying to kill your opponents. What i mean by this is it feels like your $200 upgrade is mostly a value per turn upgrade but only moves the clock maybe one turn forward towards winning. I understand that its an on attack trigger so the more you attack the more you draw. With that being said this deck is going to be viewed as a big scary threat like all vultrons are. So playing fair will just get you killed. As far as win out of no where if you want a jank but brutal way of doing so, world slayer and teferis protection. Although I do not recommend doing that.

Imo, the Simic one seems to be on par with the Zendikar Rising Precons. Where as this one seems to be underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, Wyleth is a sweet new Commander, but the reprint value for this deck is terrible compared to the other precons.
