All of this is usually covered once you get into a serious ArmA group. And it is done differently whether you play in the US or the rest of the world. I tried to pick up all the tricks from dslyecxi's grunt manual and then had to relearn a lot of stuff when I joined up with a mostly British group. All of this obviously clashed with my own personal experience in the (Danish) army. So yeah, it's best to keep it simple and then expand on training once in a group.

Something I quite often use when it comes to giving orders is CLAP which means Clear Loud As an order and with Pauses. Saying this to yourself before giving an order is good to remind you how to give an order. There is another abbreviation called GRIT which means Group, Range, Indication, Type of Fire, which is also useful to learn. Also when giving contact details do you go into fire type, E.g 'Rapid Fire, Ripple, Delayed, etc'? Or do you not go that in depth with your fire control orders.

He was referring to Dslyecxi's famous ArmA guide TTP (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures). You can find it on the Shack Tac website, it's a good read if you really want to learn how to be successful in ArmA. Just be warned it's not light reading.

There are some public servers that are decently organized. The biggest hurdle is that the majority of players aren't equipped with the knowledge to be this tactically cohesive. Its hard to do this without having played this way a lot, and preferably with the same people so you can know the specific methods people know and prefer. Arma 2 is pretty healthy for this kind of play publically, though nothing beats organized closed communities. Arma 3 will develop this more and more once its released.

Yo! I just saw this and thought that it was really good, though primarily a lone wolf makes things significantly harder for me since I'm not much of a clan person, what can you say to help us stragglers who end up alone more than with others?

+Hiniberus If you're more of a lone wolf type of person, I would advise carefully assessing the enemy, making your first move count, [taking down as many enemies as possible while you retain the element of surprise, and above all, just don't be seen. if the enemy can't see you, they can't shoot you, and you will have the advantage when you shoot first and they didn't even know you are there, until they're wounded or already dead.

Dslyecxi has ARMA 3 ALPHA been making any progress lately ? I haven't heard anything from the producers or anyone really in a while now which worries me as I loved Arma 2, and I just have such an High hopes for ARMA 3 when released. The usual. Turn off post process effects, defrag your harddrive. If you have a lot of RAM you can make a RAM drive to speed up texture loading. FPS is sometimes low on servers even if you've got a high end machine.

Man.. just go on editor and start putting people on the air field at fixed distance... it does work perfectly... the 6.5mm has a slight fire cone of deviation at longer range, but the ballistic reticle is working for all calibers..
