I've did some further research, thanks to SneakyLilVish who can be found elsewhere in this comment section, and the range per mil-dot is the following at a certain distance from the target: Target at a 300 meter distance?: EACH mil-dot is 200 meter Target at a 500 meter distance?: EACH mil-dot is 100 meter Target at a 1000 meter distance?: EACH mil-dot is 66 meter Target at a 1500 meter distance?: EACH mil-dot is 50 meter Target at a 2000 meter distance?: EACH mil-dot is 33 meter Target at a 2500 meter distance?: EACH mil-dot is 25 meter

Yeh, i was thinkin, it cant be like described in the vid.(fuckin YT for hiding dislikes..) Pretty sure arma has different ballistics profiles for each gun.

Thank you so much. This is amazing tips. I didn't know that I can calibrate the scope to zero by pressing page up or down. Mostly I find the range from range finder binocular. Then I practice my aim in base of KOTH mode. I practiced a lot on default scope setting. I even take screenshot of the scope and mark the each line for different range. I was killing the enemy on default setting in KOTH mode. I was aiming my center dot to high then I align the 6-7 line of scope mark to enemy about 1.3km to hit him. Seriously I was in so pain to take out the enemy. I was wondering how the hell enemy take me out easily but I can't take them out easily. Then I started to search " how to snipe in arma 3" then I come across your video. Really I didn't know about this tricks but your tips is amazing. Tomorrow I will try this trick.

Its more complicated than described in the video. Basically the further out you go, the more drop(in mil dots) there is per 100m the bullet travels. And this ballistics profile is different for each gun in arma. But this vid is close enough for upright targets. But prone or behind cover targets, you will need more accurate info.

*So basically get your range finder, type. Memorize the number. Take out your sniper, Press Page up and till you get to the number*

Oh thats why i kept missing long range shots, i thought each mildot represents 100m

I been having trouble missing targets at say 1870 meters because I thought each mildot was 100m so I would zero to 1800 and aim around 70% of the way to the mildot below my crosshair this explains why.

L key by default else You can change this key by going {Options>Controls>Weapons>Lase Range}.

You sure one mildot is 50 Meter? I always thought (and heard from others) that its 100m each

bluegru yeah mate, the video speaks for itself. Sniper rifles like the M320 + LRPS scope = 50 meters each mil dot. If you start going to lower calibre marksman weapons like the mk1 etc.. each mil dot is 25 metres.

it is 100 meters. but because it's at a far distance the bullet drop is a lot greater than what the scope based on.

Sounds like Arma has some sick bullet physics ^^ Found out that I was hitting targets with thinking the mildots were 100 Meter because I was shooting on a position lower than mine,

Andrew is right. In case of the M320LRR upto 1300Meters the mildots act like it is 100 meters, from there to 1700meters it's around 50meters after that 35meters. It is not the exact numbers but that's what i learnt from 900 hours of KOTH. Always helps me one shot prone targets upto 2000meters.

well, the reticle doesn't change size, so yeah, it is still the same. I've found that the 50m rule is quite incorrect, due to the round's trajectory.. if i zero at 300 to aim at 400 i need to aim 1 mil dot above, if i zero at 1500 and hit at 1600 i need 2 mil dots, if i want to shoot a guy at 1100m i can't zero at 1000 and aim 2 mil dots above, because it's slightly less than 2 mil dots, more like 1.5/1.75
