These are just some of my preferred mods that have enhanced my experience in this wonderful game, and after being asked more times than I can count, I decided to compile the top 15 mods I use to share with you! My uncle is a US Army Veteran. He served right around the time of the Bosnian war in the 82nd Airborne. He has always been an intelligent and witty figure with a strong head, i've always modelled to be after him in some way. I introduced him to the Old Man mission and some of my unit mods and he was so excited about it. This game can really bring people together and make for a ton of fun. Awesome list, subbed.

m8, congrats on becoming a father! and thank you for your service, good sir I instant subbed for that beginning speech on why you keep going back to ArmA. I can definitely relate to you there. I lived in the States for about 10 years, recently got back to my country of birth to take care of family and some business. ArmA is honestly the first ever game I got into after moving to the United States for college some 10 years ago. Been always thinking about enlisting, but never got the chance. I played so many games in these past 10 years, and will definitely be playing more in the future. But nothing really keeps drawing me back like ArmA does. In these years of ArmA, I met so many different people and eventually ended up knowing a lot of guys who served in the militaries across the planet - Dutch, Lithuanian, French, German, you name it. I even met a real 153A who taught me how to fly helos in ArmA 3. This game truly is like lego for adults. With all the mods, all the new content being added, this game just keeps on going!

I would say my favourite mod is the HAFM ships and submarine mod. It allows the players to launch realistic land and sea cruise missiles and ship to ship combat.

Just one thing: If you recommend mods that are doing similar things, it would be nice to include a note about compatibility between said mods. E.g. the WarFX mod says it would not work with the Blastcore mod. As "avid user" (assumingly, as you are recommending it) you can do this alot easier than a mod creator who in worst case has never heard of another mod. In my experience modders are not interested in compatibilities unless they use the other mod themselves or are bothered by people asking the same question over and over. Especially considering how the recommended Blastcore and Hopecore mod are not updated for 3 and 5 years respectivly. [unless you did include a notice and it managed to get past me. Then consider me a fool and don't mind me]

Die Finsternis I have mentioned previously that too many mods together tend to have adverse effects, but I don’t believe I said anything in this video. Warfx is working with Blastcore and Hopecore for me and always has. It’s subtle, but it’s in there if you know what to look for. It seems like some folks have varying experiences which I can’t control. WarFX did literally just update two days ago and even changed its name, so that may be the cause of the problem now. Again, lots outside of my control. But thank you for the suggestion, I’ll make sure and mention that kind of compatibility issue in future.

Nice list mate! Drongo has a few other must have mods too! DCE : Drongo's Command Enhanced, and DEI : Drongo's Enhanced Interface :-D Adds another layer of immersion with pop up GPS unit that let you control AI, just like DAO does with Air assets. Not to mention DMP, his map population mod which is INSANELY good, light and super optimized ✌️✌️

I found the the AH-64D is very unforgiving to sloppy collective control, I had to learn very quickly to ease the throttle on. You should also check out the Hatchet Framework H-60 mod, it is the Blackhawk equivalent of the AH-64D Project

i think you are using vanilla thermal when talking about the thermal overhaul mod. HALO jump is also a bit off when the C-130 is banking hard while troops were jumping nice vid btw, that's some really high quality and professional ArmA3 videos

The new USAF mod C-17 really nails the green light, it's really cool doing gear checks and waiting for the green light. Now what we need is a walkable cargo deck so we can gear up and walk the ramp together

@@josh_jc_cheng A walkable C-17 would be great. If I'm not mistaken there is a walkable vehicles mod out there that may do that, but I believe its a bit buggy with a lot of players on one aircraft. I just stumbeled over you video (youtube recomendations, yea) and I have to say, well done, great video! These Mods really look like they massively improve gameplay for pilots out there. I have to say tho, most of them did not seem that useful for large scale ground ops. Yea, better explosions, better smoke (or sound, looking at things like JSRS for example) are nice, but there are things that are just way more important. I speak from the perspective of an arma 3 milsim / tactical player and for us some of these would just (more or less) never be used. I know that this is vastly different from community to community and from player to player (the few pilot slots that are sometimes avaviable in our ops are usually taken by the same guys), but I personally would probably never get to see / never notice thing like the HUD, Reduced haze (normal settings of up to 5km are more than enough for infantry / tanks or anything else ground related), awesome, fox ambient or others. And some of the ones I might see (e.g. no more aircraft bouncing / smoke and missile mod) would be quite rare. We do use the USS Nimitz and (i think) one or two others of your normal Top 15 list. I am however not totally aware of every single Mod we use as our modset (in all different types) is somewhere between 100 - 180 GB and we really have to look into the usefulness for all new mods. You mentioned one EXTREMELY important one (for us) tho, and that is ACE. All the things you can do with that! The logistics, mortars (and other non-vanilla artillery) the enhanced ballistics, and mainly the medic system. This is such an important mod for us without which we would have a really different game experience. And a second, rather a group of mods, namely TFAR (Taskforce Arrowhead Radio) / ACRE (Advanced Combat Radio Enviroment), so basically comms mods are so vital for us. I am kind of surprised you did not metion one of them. And there are many others like CUP, RHS, CBA, BW-Mod (we are a german speaking community, BW stands for "Bundeswehr", the german armed forces), and maps and maps and maps and maps. So in general, HUGE amounts of data. So, as a final note: I really, REALLY like your video. It is well made, shows things that really seem to enhance your experience (and that is the thing, those are your favorites, nothing wrong with that ;-) ) and your explenations and reasoning are very good. I just personally think that most of them might not benefit ground ops that much but please correct me if I am wrong. Should I ever really get into flying in Arma 3 I will defenitly come back here and have another look at you recomendations. Cheers! I apologise for any mistakes in spelling or grammatical errors. Hussein Gusslia Thank you my friend, glad you enjoy! These are just a very small sample, I’ll be doing another list in the future as I compile another list of them :) Theres just so many! So regarding not including huge mods like RHS, CUP, JSRS, etc, I did that on purpose. EVERYONE knows what those huge mods are. Not everyone knows about these, and my goal is to shine some light on some mods that really deserve increased recognition due to how much they increase quality of gameplay. Again this definitely is not an all inclusive list, for sure. There are way too many great mods out there. Over my 2000 hours of ArmA thus far, these just happened to really impact my gameplay so I felt like I should do a video on some that greatly improved my experience and could potentially help others do the same :)

And I totally agree with you that there are a lot of smaller / less known mods out there that really deserve more recognition! Again, I really liked your video, keep up the great work! I am really looking forward to more of this kind of content. BTW: I am "only" ;-) just about to crack the 1,200 hour mark in Arma, but I have played more or less 90 % of those hours in a tactical / milsim unit and I have spent most of my time as a medic. Therefore I dont really have piloting experience or skill. Also typical for Arma realism / tactical / milsim players: ask them how much they have played the game: "A bit ... just a couple thousand hours" ^^ Oh, and I totally forgot in my first comment: congratulations on becoming a father! Thank you! You're absolutely welcome, I enjoy making this videos for everyone. I do not use a color enhancement mod, the vibrant colors are a secondary effect of the Reduced Haze mod being used. So like I mentioned, it gets rid of that gray, hazey look and lets your visuals pop like they should :)

Great video and Congrats on becoming a Father. I have three adult children and six Grandchildren now, like ARMA, things get better with age 😉. Like you, only bought a PC to play ARMA after finding out about it some 18+ months ago - now addicted! A variation is used by the British Army (VBS). Definitely like to see more 'Ground Pounder' recommendations from you. You and yours keep safe during this Covid 19 pandemic.
