Honored to be on the label collaborating with DJ Romain and Jon Cutler "Deja Vu". And so many memories including being in studio celebrating the Underground Dance Music Artists United for Life, a project "Keep Hope Alive" Lifebeat benefit compilation co-produced with Mel Cheren and Westend Records, benefitting Lifebeat, aka the music industry fights aids. The catalog of King Street Sounds reads like the house music family of the 90's/00's Oh what a time. I played the orignal down tempo "Precious Love" version and of course Dennis', which then his remix got remixed, and so on... House is a truly living breathing organism made up of so much rich soul alchemy.

I don't think anyone that knows King Street can name just one song so I'll name a few King Street/NiteGrooves off the top of my head starting with my favorite Danell Dixon - Dance Dance, Danell Dixon - Hallelujia, Kerri Chandler - Coro, Ananda Project - Cascades of Colour (DT/Saffron), Urban Soul - Show Me (David Morales), Urban Soul - Until We Meet Again (Hani), Dennis Ferrer - The World As I See It, Cevin Fisher - Shine The Light, Kimara Lovelace - I Luv You More (John Ciafone Dub), X Fade feat. Lavette - Good & Plenty Love (Wild Pitch Dub) There are many many others that I love but can't list them all. :)

That was fun to watch, and pretty educational too. A few months ago, I saw the PBS doc on the history of disco and it ended talking about how House music was born from the remnants of Disco and they talked about the Paradise Garage and such. I feel like this doc picks right up where they left off. That was awesome. Really enjoyed it and wish King Street the best luck with their new deal with Armada.

All the way from South Africa, this doccie has reignited my love and passion for the industry. We were so passionate back around 2002 when we started out playing on the Gemini 626 mixer and on SL 1200's if the budget was right, other than that the Stanton's were more cheaper for rental. All the artists and producers that appeared here made our gigs extra special back then when booked. We rocked the dance floors because of your amazing craft, thank you!!

TRUTH BE TOLD...heard this from Frankie in person at the FORT in MIAMI in 2005. Chicago is NOT the PIONEER per say. Chicago had the FIRST HOUSE CLUB branding House Music. But house music was pioneered Larry was creating and mixing house music...and Frankie left to go to Chicago to expand while Larry his partner stayed in New York...getting PAID and helping to FUND CHICAGO. They agreed to do it that way..to put eggs in both vs one basket.
