armadillo armor = bad (crab better)

this is what was voted on instead of the penguin or crab? i must say, i don't really see the point of the armor if you can just oblierate dogs at a slightly slower rate than usual.

For those who are wanting to participate in the comment wars, I should have said this from the beginning, my point is that I originally anticipated this dog armor would bring forth new pvp opportunities, but it turns out it just improved its survivability against PvE creatures, and it's great for that aspect. I apologize for the miscommunication on my end, the video itself is mainly focused on a PvP aspect, which the dog is ever useful in considering you use potion buffs and invisibility (while blobing them up). Other than that, with all the possible ways you can damage entities in minecraft, it's difficult for me to find a useful factor for PvP, which is just disappointing (considering the days I've spent counting when they'd make the dog combat ready).

I mean to be fair if they're letting you land 6-7 consecutive hits on a dog without you taking a lot of damage yourself they probably aren't very good at pvp

fair point, but i still dont think it should be that weak (im talking like 15-20 crits would make the armor way more effective for just physical combat). And if you can just do true damage using lava/potions anyway then the armor sorta does nothing

@@Skellvex Lava can be picked up by the player and potions take up a slot in your inventory which you can now no longer use to fight the player and can also be somewhat guarded against with prot Give the dogs speed 2 and strength 2 and I actually think dogs have a chance to be decent in pvp, even if niche

I mean they're still going to be affected be true damage, and if you have plenty of shulkers there is always restocking considering not all dogs are hit by the same potion

You just showcased its use. The wolf is protected to the point where 6 hits with an enchanted netherite sword do it no harm. Yet somehow that is entirely useless. You could have made the exact same video if the crab had won. Can't reach far enough to place blocks? Tower, scaffold or bridge to it. The claw would, by your ingenious definition, also be useless, a tedious tool to have take up a slot of an already crowded inventory.

the crab claw extends your reach, and even if weren't for PvP, at least the building community would have gotten a useful tool. I'm just not a fan of this armor because it just turned out to be another PvE thing, when it could have made dogs much more tanky, it would basically be like having pretty good aggro if it was able to at least live way longer in a fight or ambush

The armor can take an ender crystal to the face even when the armor is on 1 durability. (Dog will be fine) so there's that I guess.

That's interesting, I would need to apply more true damage to tell if the dog still has any HP left after that blast even with armor being extremely low.

You seem to neglect that dogs accompany a player who has, y’know, a brain? They can run away and get their dogs to teleport if you use lava, or they can y’know, attack you? This is the WORST way to demonstrate your point.

i don't wanna be like a nerd a debunk every counter argument that a comment might have, i just think the armor is bad because of the overall durability. I kinda think me being able to break the armor in 6 hits, probably less, if I didn't miss criticals is kinda bad

Like if I just have crowd control such as explosives (tnt or end crystals), or even a punch 2 and or flame bow, or a piercing crossbow with harming 2 arrows, this armor offers a tad more survivability. This armor is slightly more effective at soaking a few more criticals, being 5-7 in just swords/axes only (physical combat) The point being if you want to bring your dog into a pvp fight and you want it to not die immediately if the other player is just a meele main with a shield, I feel like that armor needs more hit points before it shatters and you need to retreat

And who knows, i might actually get annihilated by said dogs if i can't micro manage correctly in a pvp battle

As a crab enjoyer, I have to say this video is pretty dumb, you´ll never have that many damage potion in a PvP encounter, 7-8 sharpness V hits are A LOT.

I would like to see this test done out but with 2 people cause those dogs would be damaging you and doing what dogs are meant for in pvp to distract you from the other person as a way to help them because their lack of skill. Also can we all agree Mojang is stupid for making it vote for the thing the creature does not the creature itself? Like if they did absolutely nothing I would choose armadillo. Because of what they do I would have chose crab.
