Tried this not long after it was posted, I added a diced Serrano pepper to the burger filling for some kick. Love the technique. Today I went off the rails, and used ground pork, added lemon grass, galongle, tamarind paste, soy sauce and fish sauce. Made a soy sauce, fish sauce and tamarind glaze, and a fish sauce Thai basil, and bird pepper dipping sauce. Tossed a soaked mix of cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, black cardamom, and star anise in a foil bag with a few holes in the coals. Thanks for the inspiration. Just subscribed.

@@Armadillopepper I made them as a side dish for Thanksgiving Day Dinner!!! I bought 10 lbs of jumbo Sweet Vaidella onions. I sliced the onions about 2" thick. The small pieces, I put in a food processor and pulverized them & Mixed into the hamburger. I toasted hamburger buns for sandwiches. They were a HUGE hit!!! THAT recipe went in the holiday recipe tin for prostarity!!! Thank You, again for the awesome recipe!!!! It really made a difference in OUR Thanksgiving, for the BETTER!!!! Hope your Thanksgiving Day went well, TOO!!! I've been requested to make MORE for Christmas!!! Next time, a double batch!!! So, Merry Christmas, Friend!!! Be Safe Out There!!! So I tried it last night for dinner, was amazing. So, a little side experiment that we tried was to put a layer of cheese on top of meat inside the onion rim before the bacon . A nice pizza blend . Then a small amount of cheddar over the whole thing just a few minutes before being done and I have to say that I will now be adding this dish to barbecue menu in the summer at our house . Thank you so much for this recipe.
