Absolutely thrilled to see an Armagnac review. It's absurdly hard to find any, let alone the higher than 40%ABV bottlings here. When I find them, I buy them right away. Wish I could give some advice on directions to head in, but I'm starved for choice as it is. 😅 Still, loved the review, mate!

It's always nice to find another tasting of armagnac on KZbin. Armagnac has become one of my favorite spirits for several years. It offers everything a connoisseur's heart desires. It is rare, unique in taste and not very expensive. Older vintages in particular can still be found at surprisingly affordable prices. BTW l'encantada is an independent bottler who sources individual barrels from small domaines and brings them to market in small quantities. These are always exciting bottlings! Check out the Armagnac of Darroze, for me often the most interesting bottles. Cheers

Interesting. Haven't tried Armagnac . Always thought it might be on the heavier/ sweeter side towards bourbon than scotch. Got me curious. Cheers Vin..👍

It's definitely much sweeter. Something I quite like but it won't be for everyone. Worth trying a relatively cheap one to find out though!

I really appreciate you exposing me and educating me a bit on Armagnac. I'm not sure it would be my thing, but I might have to try it. I was lucky enough to be served Louis XIII cognac a few years ago and that was amazing. A supplier in China brought the bottle to a dinner and I did more than my share to empty it. It was later that I learned what that bottle cost (>$4K)! This was a very interesting video.

Tried Armagnac once at a tasting really enjoyed it, bought the bottle. Got home opened it and it tasted nothing like as good as at the tasting. Maybe I was just unlucky. I do like the authentic nature of the spirit, although the solera thing is a bit of a con for me. Are still good for Friday in Brum, looking forward to it!
