Always be aware of your surroundings, pause long enough to look around at where you are, who is in the vicinity, lighting, ease of access and departure. Learn to back into your parking space rather than pulling in. If you pull in, you ultimately have to back out anyway, just go ahead and back in and then when you are ready to leave you pull out. The ease of driving out of a parking spot rather than backing out of a parking spot makes a difference. Also, if this woman had been backed in instead of pulled in, she would have seen her attacker clearly and might have had a better chance of escape. I am NOT saying this is the woman's fault, but there are things we can do to make situations like this not be so easy for predators.

The comments on this post are deplorable. The bottom line is this nurse was attacked, assaulted, and carjacked. This has nothing to do with BLM, racism or politics. A citizen of OUR community was hurt. I pray she is okay and I thank her for serving our community. I hope they catch the perpetrator and punish him to the fullest extent of the law. Please DFW lets come together and stop this divisiveness.

Yes you’re exactly right! People are ignoring the fact that a person was assaulted, robbed, and car jacked. Regardless of her color nobody deserves that to happen to them.
