same thing happens in the lawncare industry there I live, people go around stealing our trailers with our equipment and it sucks. one of my competitors im friends with, someone made off with his trailer and over 30k worth of lawn equipment on it and he had a gps tracker on it and the police wouldnt even go out there. Police told him to let the insurance and detectives handle it even tho he knew exactly where it was. They wouldnt help him go pick it up. My crew and two other lawncare company crews ended up showing up 10 dudes deep to keep an eye on him while he picked up his own trailer. its stupid that law enforcement has gotten so lazy.

@V.P.N..... They probably have insurance but if they file a claim the premiums cold skyrocket or they might even get canceled. It’s tight for small businesses to make a profit and every dollar they spend on expenses, like insurance, rent, electricity etc. really adds up. Police are almost worthless when it comes to investigating crime. I had a 16' trailer stolen from a lot I own. I became an expert at identifying trailer makers from a distance. Three years almost to the day I found my stolen trailer in yard of a property located directly behind my property where the trailer was stolen. I had to pay for towing and impound because Police refused to release the trailer to me because the thief had ground off the vin. A State Police officer later positively identified it from serial numbers on the axles. When impounded it had a stolen golf cart and a BBQ pit trailer on it which was also impounded. The thief was never charged for theft of the trailer, golf cart or BBQ trailer
