An armed Metropolitan Police officer has been forced to step in and shut down a group of tourists who had been heckling a British soldier standing guard in London.
A video posted TikTok appears to show a group of American tourists filming the soldier and shouting out names, hoping to get a reaction from the Household Cavalry trooper who was standing guard.

Agreed, but this kind of behavior is still not illegal, not even in the UK. Freedom of speech is guaranteed in the UK, as well as in most civilized nations. And being annoyed by someone’s actions isn’t grounds to tell them to leave or be quiet. Neither the police nor the military have the authority to tell these girls to stop. They were behind the barriers and they were not physically interfering with the guards duties (which is basically just a show for the tourists). You can condemn the actions of the girls, but you cannot punish them for their actions. And again, I think their behavior was in very poor taste and does not reflect well on other Americans. I applaud the police officer for addressing the disrespect. I enjoy watching the videos, but deplore the ignorance of so many tourists. The fact that an armed police officer has to step in to stop this behaviour does not reflect well on today’s society. Entitled behaviour needs to stop. 😔🇨🇦

So you applaud denying a person their right to free speech? And yes, the UK does have the right to free speech. And an armed policeman telling a group of girls that they no longer have the freedom does not reflect well on our society. But you are correct about the entitled part, they are entitled to their rights of free speech.

Freedom of Speech isn’t freedom from consequences. Freedom of speech just means that you can’t be charged or convicted by the government (within certain necessary limits ie: threatening a head of state). Being thrown out of a facility for bad conduct is in no way a violation of anyone’s rights.
@B-A-L

@@TheCrazyMoparDude68Freedom of speech doesn't include the right to deliberately verbally abuse someone, well not in a civilised country like Britain. Don't know about America though but I've been watching the election farce there and it seems verbal abuse is the main vote grabber, which says a lot about the American voting public.
