its very rare to ever see an MOD police inspector there, it is as if they were expecting trouble as the flashing body camera means its live streaming to hq. That would only ever happen if an active threat has been identified.

My dad was a GYSgt in US Marines & always had inspections on base. You don’t disrupt a military procedure which is why civilians are never allowed on US bases except as a guest. That idiot showed disrespect & was rightly thrown out by the cops.

Firstly this is the UK we do not have “cops”! These officers are MoD police/Anti terrorism known as MDP. Secondly this man is not an “IDIOT”! He is known at Horse Guards he’s a regular visitor. He is in fact a Veteran & suffers from PTSD/Combat Stress. He deserves respect not yours or anyone else’s unkind thoughtless remarks. Regardless it’s very clear he has mental health issues & being vile to & about those suffering & less fortunate than yourself says a great deal about you!

I've seen so many drunk people walking around in public in these various videos, some carrying open containers of alcohol, and only one got arrested, most just moved down the street to annoy others. Doesn't London have public intoxication statutes? I'm from the U.S., so I don't have any idea, but this wouldn't have been tolerated here, especially in a government area. What about all the children around that could have been injured if he spooked one of the horses? Or just being exposed to this behavior? Please educate me on this, I'm very confused. I know those MOD police guards can't/won't arrest, but couldn't local police be called?
@ultrarunner-ot6ndАй бұрын
The mod police have the power of arrest. Once spoken to he moved along. Had he not conformed he may have been arrested. His behavior, though rather stupid was not as bad as some.

Not in all part of the U.S. I live in downtown L.A. which has become almost completely lawless, unfortunately. So-called "low level" crimes are ignored. People smoke meth and fentanyl in public.
@TaraRDNBMАй бұрын
He’s a veteran with PTSD & a known frequent visitor. The MDP’s powers only really extend inside the grounds in MOD land/property. The Met deal with policing outside of the grounds. The MDP could detain persons on MOD land. If out front The Met would need calling. However it is preferred to de esculate a situation rather than arrest where possible.

Bearing in mind that this is not their usual role though they were standing in as they do once a year while Cav are away. But yes I’d agree with you. Everything feels untidy & rushed. The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery a ceremonial unit usually seen pulling the gun carriages and firing salutes at State Ceremonial occasions . They are standing as Kings Lifeguards at Horse Guards temporarily replacing the two regiments of The Household Cavalry , Life Guards in red uniforms Blues and Royals in dark blue uniforms .
@TheKira699Ай бұрын
Unlike the Household Cavalry, these troops have the privilege of a permanent name of King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery given to them by Queen Elizabeth II in honor of her father. They hold the usual ranks associated with the British Army. The uniform is the same one worn during the Napoleonic wars.
