Most people don't realize a dremel will definitely turn a non-optic holster into a optic holster. If you take your time and are a bit careful, it will look quite professional. However, be absolutely sure that you do the work either outside, or in a garage. The fumes are horrendous, and probably not good to have indoors.

The only exception is some retention holsters like the Safariland ALS. The locking mechanism on non-optic holsters goes where the optic is. A bit of fine sandpaper on kydex holsters turns a dremel hack job into factory edges.

Ben Stoeger Pro Shop sells a drilled Lynx belt piece that you can direct mount their BOSS holster hanger for $5. It retains the use of the hooks on the back, is flush with the belt, and lets the belt curve more.

Hey Tessah. I’m an old guy with a cranky back and arthritis so I can’t do competitive shooting these days. But I still enjoy going to the range. In fact I went today. I absolutely love watching your competitive shooting journey. The best advice I can offer is to keep trying new equipment and setups until you find what works best for you. The more you know the better you will become.

I've shot USPSA for 24 years now and came to the conclusion that it's just wasting money spending $200 for a holster and $300 on belt setups. My thinking is once the gun leaves the holster it's absolutely useless at that point. Same can be said for mag holders. Currently I'm just using a Blade-Tech holster with Bianchi 2 round mag carriers. It works and I noticed no decrease in performance.

You might consider a long tailed flannel blouse under these winter conditions. In summer, you might try large medical pads or bandages. I used to tell people if you have wear marks on your hands, put the bandaids on first.

Moleskin helps with rubbing. Like a bandaid, apply it atop of where it would rub on your hips, then dress as you would for your match.

The Boss hanger is popular, but for us vertically challenged it digs too much in my thigh. Take a look at the Nevermiss hanger. It saved my thigh from bruising. For the inner belt, actually try a more rigid version. It should help. What might be happening is the belt is more rigid than your inner belt so it is causing those hot spots digging into you. It won’t be as form fitting to your body, but it will stop any digging into your hips from the Lynx belt.

I always solve most of my body issues with a sleep pad from a mil surplus store. If you cut a strip you can sow it to your pants or duct tape it to the parts that are creating the hot spots. I've done something similar with canvas as well for more rigid material, but I've also used the sleep pad + duct tape combo for quick fixes that end up being permanent.

If your looking for a holster that is going to give you good benefits in competition, look into a locking race holster. I've been using the Ghost holsters Hydra P+ system and I think its great! Has a thigh pad built into the holster so that it doesn't dig into your thigh. Also if your still looking for an inner belt system, KORE essentials has a padded inner belt that I think would work great for you.

I (female) tried the Lynx belt and found it too rigid for my curves so I went back to the Dominate Defense belt I have been running for 3+ years - much more comfortable. You will need the right elastic inner belt for either system to be comfortable with a ratchet system.

A couple of different things for you. 1. There's a lynx attachment for the BOSS hanger from BSPS, you can get just the hanger itself and add your RHT holster body to it, that will allow your belt to flex better. 2. Ghost as well as others make a "pad" to go under the holster, it's similar to the carry pad from sticky holsters for carry guns, but its got loop or hook velcro to allow it to attach to your belt. I think those 2 things should take care of your problem with the setup rubbing.

@davisjohnson3621
@davisjohnson3621 7 ай бұрын
It looks like you want the grip at an angle that the RHT hanger will not work at, the Henning T800 hanger will solve that problem. If you have issues with the belt rubbing, try the NERD Noose liner. It's like the padded belt you showed but made as a through belt loop inner belt.

Check out the ghost hydra p+ me and my girl love them we have 3. They have that click you like and it can be made stronger by stretching the spring behind the ball but it isnt necessary because it locks( I stretched my spring a bit because I like the click in haha) and the hanger is very adjustable and sits a bit further from your body. I run the clip d attachment on the hanger. I also ditched my normal inner belt and wear a ciguera gear emissary inner belt for edc and can just put my uspsa rig right over top. Their velcro ovelap belt maybe worth taking a look at for your hip pain, i wear one of their Buckleless edc belts in scrubs at work and its pretty comfy but still rigid enough.

The issue is with your hanger, your hanger is the reason why your hip bone is digging into your belt. Henning, ghost, and other make great hangers that are much thinner then RHT.

I had the same problem with my BOSS drop hanger digging into my hip. I just switched to the Henning t800 hanger and it doesn’t touch my hip at all. Even through low ports with a wide stance i don’t even notice it. In my opinion the t800 has plenty of adjustment and I was able to get my holster right back to where it was with the boss hanger.

I’m a male shooter, so I don’t have any first hand experience with this specific gear, but almost every female competition shooter I’ve seen at matches wore some sorts of purpose built shooting pants with a second row of belt loops, since rules allow ladies to shoot with a belt at their hip level, instead of the waist level. That could alleviate the hanger digging into you, and probably the belt bruises as well. Ghost holsters might have something, but I don’t know for sure, a quick google search might help, otherwise keeping an eye out at matches and asking is always the best way to try gear

I think with your build, the Linx belt and the hanger on your holster just aren't right for you. I think the rubbing isn't from your inner belt necessarily, but the hard, unyielding plastic of the Linx belt. Something that conforms with some stretch and give like the Dominate Defense belt and a more ergonomic hanger, like a Henning T800 would go a long way. Several friends have switched to the Dominate Defense and have much better comfort with reduced lower back pain, better mobility, etc. While still being very supportive of your equipment.
