Mrs Mitch and I join my colleagues from NCIE and explore a little of Gyumri's charm and character. We also visit the Economics University and were amazed by the innovative classrooms and facilities. If you'd like to contribute to the future development of this university, please visit these links:

/ asuegbofficial
asue.gyumri@gmail.com
You can also write to Mr Mitch at NCIE Brain Gain: braingain@ncie.am
We also visit the oldest street in Gyumri, show you the main square and quickly visit a beautiful little cafe and bakery; Aregak Bakery and Cafe: This extraordinary business is the first inclusive bakery and café in Gyumri, and employs both youth with disabilities and mothers of youth with disabilities to bring customers excellent European-style bread, pastries, sandwiches, coffees and teas. Please visit this link to find out more:

Gyumri is Armenia's 2nd largest city and well worth a visit. It's a little over 2 hours by road from Yerevan, but you can take a modern train from the city, which is just about as quick.
Come and enjoy the wonder and splendour of Armenia; you won't be disappointed.

@Slavik...yes, Gyumri has a lot going for it and we are living in exciting times I believe. The younger generation are full of hope for our nation and really getting involved in many areas...it's great to see. Unfortunately, we just didn't have the time to film all that much in Gyumri, but we'll definitely come back and have a much better look around and speak to folks who live and work there. Thanks for always tuning in...we really appreciate it.🙏

@@ArmenianLifewithMitch How do you feel about the influx of Russians into Yerevan? Seems most of these Russian refugees represent the Putin opposition in Russia. Very pro-Western, pro-liberalism and oppose traditionalism. While their influx will provide economic benefits to Armenia, it will also risk deterioration in culture and create a foothold for polluted Western ideals (LGBTIQ+ etc).

Many tourists to Armenia are unaware of how appealing Gyumri is--perhaps because it was called Leninakan during the Soviet era. Gyumri is relatively small in population (120,000 people) compared with Yerevan. However, what it lacks in size it makes up for in much charm and, as you point out, in innovation.

Dear Mr.Mitch I am very glad to see you with Mrs.Mitch.😊.Gyumri is historical and less population in the city...I humbly request you to make video about famous Avenue Street Yerevan.Thank You

Thanks brother! Regarding your request, I believe you're talking about Northern Avenue in the heart of Yerevan. You can check out one of our earlier videos, where we show Northern Avenue: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHmzo5emrtx5ipY Unfortunately, though it's a beautiful mall, it isn't typical of Armenia...just another European style mall with expensive shops...though it is nice to walk along it and "window shop" We're about trying to show the "real" Armenia, as most Armenians can't afford to shop in that mall anyway! Kind regards, Mitch

Hi Mitch! Can you and Mrs. Mitch talk about the process of buying an apartment (and/or home) in Armenia? I’m really interested in hearing from you because I’m also aspiring to buy an apartment in Yerevan like you two and perhaps a home in a different part of Armenia ♥️

I much prefer the name Leninakan to Gyumri. I visited Gyumri for a short time in the summer of 2015, but don't remember much about it. Has Armenia been affected by the near by war in the Ukraine? Much love to Armenia from the Bahamas!

@Mr Bush Lied...from the Bahamas...lucky you! We have received in influx of Russian speaking people...that's all I can say about that. Prices of certain commodities have risen, but it's too early to say what the long term effect will be. However, Armenia may well benefit economically if we go about things in the right way.🙏 Regarding Gyumri...it is developing at a fast rate and everyone's happy about that. We only gave you a glimpse of the city, but there is so much to see...we'll return in Spring and shoot a more thorough video.

@vekeen sadoryan...sorry for the late reply to your comment, I just noticed I hadn't replied (and I try to reply to all comments). Yes, I know about Yerevan Everyday and we could collaborate one day, though I think our channels differ substantially in content. They travel a lot, film from their car (mostly) and speak in Armenian. We're more focused on showing what it's like to live in Armenia from an English speaker's point of view. But, it's always good to diversify and look at what others are doing. I know they have a good following and they upload nearly every day. We're not able to do that, because we have work commitments, so we're only able to upload once a week. Thanks for your suggestion though, we really appreciate it🙏

@AnaitVoskanyan...exactly what are you trying to say, Anahit jan? Regarding the tradition of jumping over the fire, I don't believe it is either a good or bad thing...it's just a tradition. Most Armenians would have no clue as to what the fire of Molech is anyway. It's like the breaking of plates by the bride and groom, or the lavash over the shoulder. It's a tradition.
