I have only known a few Armenian people in my 44 years, but they all had one thing in common: A very keen sense of "fairness" and "justice" and "worthyness"... a general attitude of "there is a place and a purpose for everyone, no one is inherently better than anyone else"... (Clearly we weren't "created equal", or else we'd all be exactly the same, but, the big guy needs the little guy's help just as much as the little guy needs the big guy's help, so everything evens out.)

Excellent video man. I really appreciate the time you put into the graphics and the very unique moment of Armenian history you chose. I've read some disheartening articles regarding the Armenian quarter recently and hope someone takes responsibility of disseminating copies of the historical texts you mentioned. Its seldom we have source documents of our own historical record that isn't Roman because of the constant causes for diaspora and various erasures of history. I would much prefer to have proof of our interactions with world from sources besides our conquerors, as some are not so graceful as to record the plight of our existence, but would rather forget the sins of their past.

Great video tho i have a problem with the thumbnail as the armenians of jerusalem live in eastern jerusalem an internationally recognized part of palestine even the armenian community there identifies as Armenian Palestinian
@ColonelFluffles7 ай бұрын
Exactly. Isr@el is suppressing this community and has denied them permission to finish the build of a church in remembrance of the Armenian genocide victims, a few decades ago, shortly after the genocide happened. Isr@el also always sided with Azerbaijan during the wars. Isr@el is also bullying Christians alongside muslims by regularly closing the big churches in Jerusalem. Even Isr@eli 'citizens' (who are almost all soldiers in reserve) will spit on nuns passing by the entrance of these churches. It is the Arabs of the levant that have accepted Armenian refugees, ane even intermixed with them. You'll even find a lot of Armenian influence in Arabic music for example. So, making it appear as if Jerusalem is Isr@eli (even after the international community recognized the Eastern half as Palestinian) is a big c#ck move that shows one does not even respect his own people and history. Or is at best ignorant

@@ColonelFlufflesChristians dont get spat on in Israel. Christians who've lived there for their entire lives will tell you the same. It's a fringe radical group that doesn't like being interrupted by Christian missionaries on their holidays. They are condemned by all the chief leading rabbis and are arrested for harassment (even if they were provoked off camera). If you're going to project the actions of a few zealots to an entire population then the same can be done about other groups, does a few pdphile priests mean that all Christians are pdphiles? MiddleEastMonitor/Al-Jazeera/BBC/Haaretz amplify these few instances because the Muslim incentive is to break apart the infidels from uniting. People are provoking Jews on purpose to get some bad media coverage of them and invoke a shock reaction, after cropping the video.

I have to start by saying that I really like your videos. You create beautiful clips that are very well thought out, nicely planned and organized, and have great execution on production and editing, love the work that you do. You're usually always accurate but I do have to note that the statement you made of Jerusalem's Armenian population of the 4th and 5th centuries is not really the"world's oldest Armenian diaspora," as they'd already conquered and migrated to, settled in what is today Cilicia/Antioch, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, etc. hundreds of years earlier. And before the times of their Tigrane empire or their involvement in the Georgian Tamar empire, they had already migrated to areas as part of the Persian then Macedonian empires and Armenians existed all over Thrace, Greece and the Balkans. Maybe the community in Jerusalem may best be described as the oldest, continuously settled Armenian diaspora community with direct roots dating back to antiquity.
@AkravHistory8 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words and feedback. That's right, Armenians have a long presence in places like Cilicia, Antioch, and across the Levant. Perhaps I could have chosen my words more carefully, but "oldest Armenian diaspora" in the video aimed to emphasize the long-standing, continuous presence of Armenians in Jerusalem from early Christian times, which indeed, as you suggest, might be more accurately described as one of the oldest continuously settled Armenian communities with roots traceable to antiquity. Thanks again for your contribution!
