Despite the King of Armenia falling into the Arian heresy, Nerses still remained patriotic to his nation, stood by King Pap and offered him comfort during battle, and even forgave him after being assassinated. Pap dont poison Nerses
@torgomaghanyan7633 Жыл бұрын
The story about Narses is fals, his remains were excavated and examined, which showed that the roman spy of a bastard was terminally ill, so his death was from natural cause. Church hated Pap because king wanted to return the power over kingom to kings not the nobility which were backed by church. Pap was the person who founded armenian church by establishing catholikos system, he returned huge amounts of land back by thus taking off huge amounts of taxes from peasants, who were flying country because of it. He closed all monasteries for nuns, because he wanted young girls to marry and have children, he took out nobility’s children from monasteries which became in that time sanctuary for thos who wanted to avoid military service, he wanted to reestablish alliance woth Persia to draw off roman occupation forces and to secure his borders , which would allow him to retake vast amounts of land of Armenia Minor that were occupied by romans sinse 66 bc. For Mushegh Mamikonyan, he was the leader of traitorous po roman nobility coup, and was responsible for tricking Pap into meeting with Traianos in 374. Pap was a big reformer whos anti feudal reforms in their progressives were 1000 ahead of time. All roman historians had high opinion about him, considering him brilliant and talented individual.

So his father is imprisoned by Persia, he has the Mamikonian generals bail him out of a battle while he hides away with the Romans and then double crosses the Romans by demanding land from them and running to his fathers killers while murdering Nerses. Is it any wonder Nikol Pashinyan sees this guy as an Armenian hero. Pap at least has the excuse of being a child.
