This gorgeous sailing yacht was built in the 1930s in the South of France and has been restored with an open cheque book and by a passionate owner who wanted her to be just perfect. The results just have to be seen!

There is one fundamental aspect about these boats you should mention, that is safety for bluewater sailing. As I have learned from my guru Dick Beaumont; modern yachts can be super dangerous for bluewater sailing for two reasons: their bolt on keels are susceptible to failure with any contact with a heaviish piece of flotsam (of which we know there is plenty, and likely to be plentier in the future) sand bar, or even a marine mammal. And those very flimsy spade rudders, oh so great for performance, but so very fragile break like twigs, or bend with very little contact. And speaking of marine mammals, it seems as if Orcas have acquired a taste for breaking spade rudders in sailboats around the Iberian peninsula, no-one knows yet it it is a new game for them or revenge for mistreatment from fishermen. A boat like this, in addition to all the pluses cited here, is immune to any of those issues

Just stunning, no other words come to mind. It takes you (well at least me) back in time when I spend time on yachts like this as a child. The rigging is superb and love the colour of the 'golden' winches but the maintenance of all the gorgeous wood 😱😱😱😱

All that wood work is absolutely stunning to see. The craftsmanship that went into making the new and redoing the old wood work really have golden hands for it. I liked the sunroof windows that can open up for fresh air for below. It beautiful. Thanks for sharing this fine lady with us.

Truly a gorgeous yacht deserving of an owner willing to keep her in bristol condition with an open check book. i can imagine her in summer, new england, pacific northwest for the port townsend wooden boat show or the swedish archipelago. i once was on Neil Young's WN Ragland 100ft baltic schooner and had a similar reaction to such classic craftsmanship and beauty, i nearly passed out and had to be revived with smelling salts... almost....

You have a keen eye. Very similar yacht from a simalar era (1936). Duran Duran used a 72' William Fife built yacht called "Eileen".

Looks pretty, but 5 million seems kind of steep for a sailing yacht, and yes I get the cost of rebuilding and the rigging, tackle and everything else, but I'm just saying that you would have to be a super dedicated sailing enthusiast in order to want that boat and not a different one that is out there on the market that is perhaps newer and bigger, or of the same style but cheaoer because it does need work and the new owner can have that done to their liking. This is a specific box ticked for someone. That's what I'm sayung

the boat is very nice however continuity was lacking for example talking about all the new stuff in the engine room while showing a drone shot from above the boat was puzzling why not show all the new stuff there are sparse crew quarters and two small guest cabins what about the owners suite hard to get a layout of the boat when all you see is what your pointing the camera at

To me that Deckhouse doesn't really fit with the aesthetics of the Yacht but it wouldn't be a big deal to change it to something more appropriate. Lower it I think. But then you might want to lower the Mizzen boom and that would mean new sails but it would look better (to me) The rest of it is spot on. Look at those blocks...I mean I've got carbon fiber with nylon sheaves on the MacGregor 26 I inherited from my Dad but you can tell the ones here are brand new but look 100 years old. How do you even do that? The bow sprit looks like a bit of a challenge but I'm sure a good crew could handle it (not me). All in all it's absolutely stunning. 6 million Euros + probably another million for the refit to suit me...wouldn't change much but that quality ain't cheap. Fortunately I live near Seattle an we've got the people here to do it. I'm going to go look for my check book.
