Very interesting, many things similar to what was done with the Highland Broadsword later. Makes me think how the Highlanders used their arming-swords of scottish style (sometimes called Quillon Sword) and Halflangs without a Buckler or Targe? Maybe kind of that way which is similar to what they did later with a Basket-Hilt? Nice to play with these thoughts.

I was thinking similar in regards to it being similar to Broadsword systems, specfically I was thinking of English Backsword (like George Silver), but with the guards of Italian Sidesword.

Not so easy to do with footwork and fluidity, it needs a lot of practice. I like your last "Ura" hidden techniques for complete viewers :-). Are the last techniques with two full steps, intended to break the distance against a longer weapon like a pike? Is it a break-rush only move or maybe a preparatotry drill to enter in a bind to control the opponent weapon?

It may be everything, but generally speaking is tod eal with the fact that, at least 2 time out of 3, your opponent will retreat if he feels that is loosing the initiative, so to land the thrust you may need more than a step, if the opponent parries the thrust while you are stepping forward twice, then you can go for a stretto action (if he is standing still) or a largo, depending from the situation. ;-D

What master(s) or manuscripts have you been using to develop this? You look very fluid and smooth through these drills. Glad to see you post something. It has been a while 👍

@@FedericoMalagutti thanks for that. I think I had somehow missed that first video. Nice synthesis. Some of this feels reminiscent of bolognase swordsmanship 😉

@@jasonjames9836 indeed. In the end, we have a variety of arming sword shapes, and sidesword shapes... And the use is pretty similar!
