I find it funny that this came out today. I was just about to buy the AF Tatar takedown yesterday but I didn't for some reason. Which would have been no doubt worth it but I wanted fiberglass as its approaching winter here and something more forgiving in terms of care. And although I have never tried a Turkish style I feel like for $180 it would be a great time to try. Particularly for a class bow like that. Even looks fancy! I'm sold.

Great review and great bow. AJ did it again. As far as the design of the bow, it was used with heavier arrows. Then the Turks went the opposite with their siphai and light arrows. Long siyas are good at throwing heavy arrows as far as I know compared to little siyas

I've done several years of sharpshooting and i've been more and more attracted to archery, the two sports have some differences of course and i must especially thank your channel that gave me lots of more insights on the topic. I've been looking for something to start with and try archery out too, would this bow be good for beginners too? (What scares me the most is the bow weight, i'm not yet that strong of a person). Overall awesome review and content

Ottima recensione e ottimo arco, ho visto che ha usato delle frecce abbastanza leggere, volevo chiedere se con un arco in fiberglass si possono usare frecce più leggere che con un arco laminato?
@ArminHirmer3 жыл бұрын
it depends on the bow. Usually fiberglass bows will have a big hand shock when you use too lightweight arrows. With this bow I just tried to see what it does and it works. Not a general rule. But for sure fiberglass bows even if they have hand shock, can handle light weight arrows better than laminated bows

Looks like a nice bow, i'd be happy to try it someday ^^ I noticed that most of the take down bows - if not all - have that gap in the handle after installment. I think a sponge seal on the surface if the handle would kinda solve the issue, really. At least for the looks. Just install a layer of something soft, like sponge or something, on the rim(s) of the handle surfaces where they get merged. :) Wouldn't affect the grip, handling or the fit, but would fill the gap both visually and mechanically. Just an idea ;)
@ArminHirmer3 жыл бұрын

A wierd looking design. Never seen this shape before. It's interesting. I think the handle gap could be solved by putting rubber on both sides. It would compress on the belly side, and expand on the back to fill the gap. Just a thought.

"reflex with straight static tips" is the design shape, I believe.

Hi Armin. I got one of these and am loving it so far... But it has a tendency to creak just a tiny bit. Like a brief, quiet 'ping!', especially the first few draws of the day. After several draws, it doesn't 'ping' much. Is this normal? Could it just be the string moving slightly and settling into place? I know you will avoid a bow that creaks at all, but I get the impression, rightly or wrongly, that you are referring to more of a sustained sound?

Seljuks were elder state of Turks before Ottomans. They were great at archery and unfortunately there is not much evindence how exactly they made Seljuk bow or how that bow look like. But I remember I heard (or read, I dont remember well) somethings from Murat Özveri's researches.
