Thanks for the great review Armin. As you play around with them you will find that to get more range just let the weight of the sticks do the work and throw without any inhibition, at full speed. They start to gain really good lift and then will fly much farther at that point. I worked with a student the other day who started the day throwing 65 meters and ended the day throwing 114 meters with the same stick. It takes time to develop the skill but once you've got it, it's magic!! Thanks again and wow what a beautiful location you're at there!!

Finally!!!! 😁👏 The Wedge Club exists in right and left handed too. As I already wrote you once, we (my son and myself) have them both (being him two-, but a bit rather dominant right-; myself left handed), and we use them as a “primitive general multipurpose survivaltool” when hiking, as an alternative of a hatchet or machete (admittedly less effective but surprisingly more versatile versions of their metallic counterparts) and we put a raping on them as handle; which decreases a bit the throw, but increases the chopping capacity) + they can be transported by plane without problem, being not metallic. To short distances we throw them as a hachet (and against thick cardboard targets, like that they stick with very high probability thanks to the form - with any of the both ends, which is more spectacular and fun). For throwing exercise I recommend the same way as with the bow (above all for instinctive shooting): begin with very short distance (3-5 m-s), and by each hit go 1 m further, by each miss 1 m nearer. Like that as you get better you finish more and more far from your target. 🙂 As chopping (and quasi “cutting”) tool you can use them both as a hatchet, or reverse it, and than “cut” like a machete; chopping surprisingly hard stuff; but you can stab with them too with both ends. ...Maybe you should make a video about that too one day...🙄🙏

That's a great report. I can put the Karli 100 meters distance flat and level flights. You have to throw it harder than Hirmer is doing but it really goes when you do!!

I have the Wedge War Club, and have just ordered the Karli and Stinger. You'll build accuracy quickly once you figure out the technique. Like @throwsticks said, let the weight of the stick do the work.

Hehe, nice. Never gave these any thought yet, they look fun. Also, must say, the new location looks pretty neat. Lot of space with a beautiful landscape, so cool :)

Oh just remind something. For the one that has a form like a circle arc. It's sometimes called rabbit stick. If you know a little how to play tennis. The technic and feeling is pretty the same. This stick is meant to fly straight at a low height to catch the running rabbit.

great video. i think i would use a throwing stick only if the target were within 10 meters.

Interesting. The point of this woods seems to be to hover at a certain height to hit some moving animal, giving you more range. Not to land at a certain point. just thinking: are there any device kind of combining archery and boomerang? making the arrow really fly or glide towards the target instead of just being projected?

Yes, the AtlAtl is an ancient weapon that literally is a hybrid of archery and throwstick and is released with a spear thrower. Found in every ancient culture from prehistoric Europe, the Americas to Australia. Modern day Yolngu in North East ArnhemLand still hunt daily with them using spear throwers.

@@dreamingorca Well... the AtlAtl is very good in increasing the projecting power. But is there any device in archery to make arrows really _fly_, i.e. gliding, comparable to these throwing sticks?

Fun! The War Club especially reminds me of Iroquois weapons from Northeastern America's history. Are you going to make over-the-shoulder back scabbards/holsters? 😀

Always liked those. But they are pretty expensive stuff... Learning throwing sticks, atlatl and bows is all my childhood ❤️ Edit : spear too, i always loved spear throwing.😊

hello, i think it's like the release problem the stick goes exactly where your arm is stopped (back, up, left, right) nice flight !
