Haha, same here. For shooting, yes. But when it comes to weight, the difference can mean 9 gpp to 10 gpp. Which Can be a problem if the arrow is too light for the bow. Also the spine is an issue if you shoot mediterranean.

I have them all, wooden, bamboo, fiberglass , mixed fiberglass /carbon and pure carbon arrows, all from China. I may say I learned the hard way but cheaper. Had fun and felt the differences. Be precautious on the mixed material but advertised as carbon. There's good in cheap products! Armin again went into details and brought about learning . Maraming Salamat as always.

I bought a set. The wood is cedar. It's varnished so you can't smell it. Mine are self nocked with purple heart as a nock reenforce. The depth of the purple heart wasn't constant. The straightness wasn't bad. They were spined for my 50 pound Grozer. Good enough to learn with but not for anyone over beginner. I learned how to make my own arrows.

Good review. I can add few words, as I got exact same set (a lot cheaper on aliexpress 12 for under 30 EUR) an also I was more lucky, checked with similar tool - few was perfectly straight, others similar to what Armin got. I amshooting them occasionally since couple of months and no issues (from 25 pound to 55 pound bows). Only thing I did, is reinforcement of the knocks with drop of glue, so I do not have any issue of wood being sharp or falling apart. But I got also some other arows similar to those and must say that really in the same price there is big selection of nice wooden arrows. Recommend those with twisted feather (those even not perfect straight always goes accurately).

I purchased some .166, 500 spine carbon arrows off Alibaba a while back. I set them up as I did my regular arrows (Bow: 70", 38 pound, 28" draw, 9.25 brace height, arrows 28.5 inches long, 2.1" fletchings, 100 grain points) and they shot 2 feet left at 20 yards; indicating they were way to stiff. I upped the point weight to 120 grains and saw no difference. I weighed my normal arrows and found they were 19 grams with points, fletchings and nocks. The Chinese arrows were 22 grams. I ended up throwing the Chinese arrows out, as they were unusable.

Good review, thanks for posting. I have purchased aluminum and carbon arrows from China, haven't had any problems with them and paid a fraction of the cost of comparable arrows, around $35 a dozen US. The only issue I had with one shipment was in shipping apparently something a lot heavier dropped in the middle of the package, which resulted in a curved arrow. Received a credit for the damaged arrow from the company, no questions.

If you are in the UK there's similar if not the same arrows on ebay for about £2.50 per arrow (€2.90) with free shipping. If you don't mind the look you can also get fibreglass arrows with rubber fletchings, then buy feathers and refletch them, all in £2.10 per arrow and they have much more consistent spine and weigh.

Ha ha. I suspect that picnic table surface may not be nuclear physics straight, so rolling your arrows on it to straighten them may not be the best choice. Thx for your informative vid. I recently stumbled upon Easton XX75 Platinum Plus aluminum arrows and, for the foreseeable future, I have found my ideal arrow (1616 spine for my lighter weight, 25-30 poundish, recurves), but they are not cheap. Wood bends due to the internal wood grain orientation and the absorption of ambient humidity from the air. Dryer or more humid contritions and you should expect the curved spine to do it again. Any applied pressure to attempt to straighten will only be temporary.

I think then that I was right to learn to make my own arrows. I keep track of what I pay for my components and I calculate my marginal cost per arrow is €2.20, and that is for consistent weight and spine wooden arrows with wraps and four inch fletching. It's so easy to make arrows I think anyone who wants to do archery as a hobby should learn to do it because you can really save money this way.

For my purposes (back garden shooting) i only use cheap arrows. Both my bows cost around £100 and some arrows cost more than that for 12. If i was a hunter sure i can see spending that much, if i was a competition shooter i can see it too, but when i shoot a couple of times a month it seems silly to spend a huge amount of money. I pay typically £15 per dozen for for crossbow bolts, £15 for carbon arrows and 35 for wood arrows for my recurve

I have been shooting over 45 years for competition buy the very best you can afford if you can afford easton ACC ,ACE, or X10 buy them for practice the best alluminium arrows are easton X7, or XX75 I buy the cheap chinese arrows as i dont require them to be perfect and they are disposable i remove the piles and replace them with glued on brass bullets but buy the arrows with piles that have not been pinched on as you cant remove them but if your draw length is less than 29" you can cut the piles off and glue the bullets on and still have an arrow long enough to remain safe it will improve the arrows considerably

Aren't carbon express predator II's the same price roughly as these? Per arrow it's about 6.87 USD. ($80 a dozen or so with shipping and such) They're well liked and accurately spined and weighted. I purchased a set (one dozen) wood arrows (red fletching) from AF Archery on Amazon, US $35 ($25 + $10 shipping) when I ordered my AF Archery Han bow (thanks to your review!) and they seem fine for outdoor target shooting; good enough that I ordered a second set with white fletching for my white Mongol bow. Only concern is the spine is "random"; but for a few dollars more they offer spine choice (500, 550, 600). Cheers!

That is expensive for Chinese arrows, for woods I pay between £25-30 per dozen, for carbons I pay £30-40 per dozen same for pure aluminium, for carbon/aluminium composite skinny arrows I pay between £60-70 per dozen. Never received a set of Chinese arrows that I wasn’t happy with, I figure if the Chinese can make iPhones and virtually all modern day electronics, a few arrows isn’t beyond them. Besides I think all my bows bar one, where made in China. I can’t afford western price markups, £120 for a dozen arrows is too much for me.

I just bought a few dozen cheap carbon arrows off eBay from a couple different vendors. 1. Built well....good fletching, points, inserts, and knocks.... Seemed to be consistent in weight. 2. Flew well out of a 45 lb horse bow with good groups The not so good: 3. Durability was no where near my carbon blood sport arrows. Everytime I put a blunt tip on the Chinese arrows and went "stump hunting" in the woods the carbon arrows broke apart after 2-3 hits on semi rotten stumps (my lower end bloodsports I've got 100's of fresh stumps without damage). 4. The knocks and inserts are slightly different than a typical arrow shaft (the i.d seems to be larger than a typical arrow so standard hardware doesn't well). I'm wondering if the Chinese arrows are the same o.d as my other arrows but are thinner wall with a larger i.d and not as strong. I would say go for them if you want to Target shoot on a forgiving target. For hunting or abuse they don't hold up well. I find going to Walmart and reflectching with real feathers might be a better option if you have the skills to do that. You'll have a more durable arrow and it will be easier to replace knocks and inserts.

@TheArudehi

@@yehenala1 bamboo is more flexible than wood, in my experience wood is fragile, when the arrow hit something hard, the point break the wood. But some wood with some special treatment can make it better arrow just like carbon.

If your arrows are not matched to your draw length and the weight of your bow at your draw length then you will never get great accuracy from your shots. With mixed spine arrows your shots will be left or right of what you are trying to hit. Correct matching arrow spine is the most important part of any archers kit, period. You could have the best bow in the world, but if you haven't got the correct arrows then its just another bow. I've seventeen years experience as an arrow Fletcher. Drop me a line or find me on eBay and I'll improve your shooting with arrows matched to you and your bow. Mark... UK Bullseye Archery

Cheap Chinese arrows have caused me nothing but frustration. They break easily, are often bent on arrival, and fly like garbage. For a little more you can buy something that is reliable. The equipment a man prefers is a reflection of the man's inner character. I say it is better to spend a bit more and be happy.

I can't see any genuine benefit from shooting cheaply made arrows that deviate so much in all the important characteristics. It doesn't help your shooting skills to attempt to group mismatched arrows. That's just an exercise in frustration for most archers. And since accuracy is everything in archery, why wouldn't you want arrows capable of grouping well? I do own a Chinese made crossbow which I greatly enjoy and whose quality is very good for the price. But I don't shoot Chinese made bolts in it. I shoot a good grade of well made bolts. It's very important to me when hunting with my crossbow or my traditional recurve bow to shoot an arrow capable of extremely good performance. Every arrow or bolt I hunt with costs me about $25 to $30, due to shaft cost, broadhead cost, lighted nock, etc. The last thing I want to do is shoot an arrow that veers off to the side due to cheap construction and whacks a tree, destroying a $30 projectile.

If I was looking into fletching my own arrows, they might be a good starting point for learning how to tune up arrows. For example, you might challenge yourself to make some smaller matching sets out of one or two boxes.
