Get ready for the next TED-Talk (in Tekken 7 announcer voice). Yei and Wiz, the Raccoon and the Fox, the brother-in-arms Lynx, the spiritual successor to Helix I and Helix II? You WIZ. Yei, the one who bombarded you with a barrage of missile (I approved), and Wiz, the one who shred your AP and PA to smithereen. A surprisingly well-designed duo compare to most of the duo or even trio boss in Elden Ring, I might say, as both support each other well enough to keep you occupied from almost every side. Nevertheless, their strength come from the 2v1 nature of the fight in a mission, as well they try to steal the glory from you... by destroying you. They work together like Ornstein and Smough, can be overwhelmed, but there is always a room to exploit their weakness. Yei, take the role as Smough taking his time to smack you with missile, and Wiz taking the role of Ornstein for being able to keep up with you and keeping your skill in check (I'm sorry, but Godskin Duo fucking suck). Their strength are also their weakness... the moment it become 1v1, their strategy are in shamble, and their rank shows it. Even if both are more well-equipped than the NEXT four Lynx (get it?), which is Don Colonel, Francois-Neris, Canis, and Kamisory Johnny, they cannot keep up with any of them in terms of experience and solo battle, but at least they beat the four lowest Lynx... but then again, it's not hard to improve from garbage. Nothing much to say about them, as their reputation... or could be their life as well... quickly meet its demise the moment they tried to hijack your mission.

This is fascinating. I didn't know there were more sibling Armored Core pilots. The only ones I knew about were Eugene (Helix II) and Francisca (Helix I) from Silent Avalanche in Armored Core 4. As one of the more interesting encounters in that game, the Lynx sibling duo play to each other's strengths in order to take you down. But, once you manage to destroy one of the siblings, the other starts to have a massive freak out for the remainder of the fight. Glad to see more siblings and emotional pilots sprinkled through out the series.

With 1.40 regulation Wis’s machinegun & grenade build is a nightmare for close quarter He’ll chip your PA and pummer you with grenade constantly, yet his next is vulnerable to be stun locked by Bazooka namely Roadie’s Bazooka arm

One notable trait of both these Nexts is the fact they use parts from multiple corporations. This is not too surprising, given their mercenary status, but I find the loadouts to be kind of hodgepodge. Emerald Raccoon is a heavy and tanky frame that doesn't have the mobility needed to support its sniper/support weaponry. Scarlet Fox on the other hand is supposed to be in-your-face, but it's got the Rachel main booster. This booster is either the weakest, or one of the weakest in the game. Neither unit is fast, in a game primarily based around mobility, so they're at a crippling disadvantage to speedy sniper tactics. I speculate that in-universe, these guys had a very difficult time getting parts. This is because they're independents. It seems like the higher rank the independent pilots were, the better craft they piloted. Corporate Nexts didn't really seem to have such an escalation of equipment (Menno Ruh from AC4 being a notable exception). It seems like Wis took all the good parts for himself, and Yei had to make do with whatever parts were left. How do pilots in AC get parts really? It's late, and I have to be up early, so I'll jump straight to the point: grey/black markets. AC games never really specify how you buy parts or who from, just a menu to buy them. It's how Berlioz got his GA back cannon. It's how Lynx can get parts from multiple corporations that are at war with each other. It's how we, the player get most of our parts. This also implies you have personal staff - people doing AC repairs, people doing part acquisition, parts deliveries, security so you don't get assassinated while outside your AC (c'mon, you gotta have wondered why enemies only try to kill you when you're inside your AC) your operator, etc. These are simply glossed over, but I think they're worthy of note in the lore. Wis and Yei? They're new, they're relatively poor, their support staff is probably freshly assembled and missing key positions. So their craft are kind of thrown together from whatever deals they could get. Heck, who says the corporate Lynx have to pay for parts at all/ Maybe it's only mercs buying in unregulated markets that have to pay for parts. And every part you buy is probably scavenged from a destroyed craft as of AC4A. That's something I would do if I made a mech game that takes place on Mars that's been going through my mind. If you start unaligned with any major powers, you get some cash from contracts, but a large part of your pay comes from post-battle scavenging, and there are some missions that are just to protect your salvage vehicles and crew while they steal parts from a battlefield.

Not saying the scarlet fox was a big influence on my overall design philosophy, but we share a lot of features. Edited to comment that I swapped the rockets for the close combat radar augmenter, because it just made life simpler

Basic analysis of Kojima particles: Information ahead- - - - - - - - - - - Kojima particles are a new source of energy discovered and located in the arctic regions of the planet. upon the discovery and research use of the particles resulted in new advancement of modern uses, such as cars, industrial manufacture factories, and later the military. The use of Kojima was interestingly an infinite source as the particles don't diminish upon its usage, but later revealed that the particles spread and multiply, thus creating a polluted surface. essentially this new source of energy through unknown of its origin, (at least so far) it only dates back to where it was found, and how it was harvested. (via the Kojima spheres that silent avalanche guards, and visible particles as shown in the mission "Empress" in AC4 where Kojima particles is heavily visible and densed. it is possible (in my guess) that these particles are alien and not a natural resource formed on earth.

It really is quite a sign how far Silent Avalanche has fallen since 4. Yei and Wiz don’t hold a candle to Helix I and II. BTW I pointed out on the discord, but I’m wondering WHO hired Yei and Wiz, the Japanese dialogue and it’s translation say BFF hired them, but in English, Wiz is talking to Yei, and not referring to BFF. So I’m wondering what that translation means and if it’s correct. Perhaps Interior hired them?

your client for that mission is "omer science" and considering that Wis ranted that it would of been best if him and Yei handled silent avalanche from the beginning. so either: 1. Omer allowed the Pair to kill Strayed (if otherwise sent them to kill him) or 2. They went ahead and took advantage of the chaos and the already worn out Strayed, by attempting to kill him and take credit for defeating silent avalanche. (at this point, Strayed has destroyed infamous AFs like Motherwill and defeated skill pilots like White Glint) this would defiantly boost their reputation within the League.

​@@andrewrogers3067 its both versions. I have both games, I reran both of them multiple times. (i have 1209 hours in the english version and 456 hours in the japanese version.) And Wis has never mentioned BFFS name in the dialog, and if he did its really easy to tell. this is wis japanese dialog: 最初から私に任せるべきです。 if what you said is true, he would of said it this way. BFF は、最初から処理させてください。 See the difference? Edit: Im pretty sure the video you may have referred to, is "Nod Keras" since ive watched his video and he mistranslated that line as well. but if otherwise, this is clearly a mistranslated error.

My apologies i do needed to stop by more. Still I'll be honest translation is never my strong suit, but as already pointed out either these two saw this as a chance to raise thier reputations as lynx by taking down strayed who at this point was becoming that fear all corporations had. Or it possible Omer hired them to take care of strayed after all he was becoming an asset no one could control. But as i always say we really have nothing in stone about certain subjects as such you could say BFF no wanting to lose the plant sent out these two to help.

Well at least this duo isn't as obnoxious as the one in Daemon X Machina. they got put in place and served their spot as an tag team enemy variation and Thats it, instead of widening the story fillers for no reason. Btw lotta furry vibes with them lol. As for the tag team set up, it usually involve min maxed the next setup to complement each other, thing about that is once one is down the other becomes innefective compared to a balanced build on any weight class that can switch range and adjust to enemy (i.e plasma/grenade for ranged work, AS missile for aerial stuff. Paired with short and medium ranged fire arms, energy rifles or blade) Anyway before you move to other gen mind topping off collared top 5 with lillium and her 063 ?. I think thats the last major thing if anything left in ACFA barrel aside for few next models and orca members.
