The composer is Kota Hoshino and he is a freaking legend, Armored core has an amazing soundtrack. The first gen soundtrack was a lot more synth and electronic sounds, while second gen was a bit more rock and orchestra oriented with hints of classic armored core hear and there, third gen was what you just listend to and I can hardly describe it. All the songs tell a story, to the extent that "remember" and "Mechanized Memories" are almost the same song vocals wise. You should absolutely listen to more songs from this series, especially the boss soundtrack. I loved this video as an Armored Core fan and would LOVE to see more. Thanks for the awesome video

So there’s actually 15 games, not including mobile games or ports to portable consoles. Lol The Armored Core series is published by this little company called FromSoftware. That’s right, your favorite Dark souls and Elden Ring publisher is also responsible for a fast-paced(speed varies by installment), third person, robot shooter game. This isn’t a normal shooter though and is actually has alot of elements similar to the Souls series. Your armored core(robot) build, which gives you your stats, and weapon choices are extremely important to movement and countering enemy armored core builds. You actually have to think and be tactical and not charge in or you’ll ‘you died’ very quickly. Fromsoft hasn’t published one of these games since 2013, but there are leaks stating that there finally working on the next one now that elden ring is out.

Just to point out, FS is the developer, not the publisher as that would be Bandai. (AC has been jumping between publishers but FS has been consistently working under Bandai's banner since 2012 so it's safe to assume AC will follow that trend when it resumes) But yes, give us AC6, From, we need it.

Did not expect to see Armored Core on this channel. It is one of my most beloved franchises, and I am SO HAPPY that FROM has at last decided to revive it after nothing but Souls games. I have very high expectations for AC6 and am looking forward to hours and hours of tedious Mecha customization and high octane battling.

As a big fan of this seemingly-forgotten-in-the-shadow-of-the-Souls-series franchise, the opening of this song is SO "classic Armored Core" that I'm glad it was done that way. Also, your evaluation of the type of game is practically spot on. The franchise is 50% designing, building, decorating mechs, and 50% taking them out to battle, usually each other. (Big emphasis on multiplayer vs). Oh and 25% plot, if you care to follow it. It's there though. I never favored the balancing changes made in AC3 and it's expansions, (although Last Raven rebalanced things back in a way that I really enjoyed that entry), and AC4 is almost an entirely different game, with AC5 being more of a blend of everything that came before, good and bad. Tangent aside, it would do you well to take a trip into the classic AC era and check out songs like the Raven's Nest, intro movie sequence, and vs 9 Ball themes from the first game and it's expansion-sequels (Whatever the titles are on the official sound track.) A lot of songs get reused and remixed through the franchise too, be it for recurring "characters" or just a little nostalgia tickling.

Jesse thank you for bringing a well needed light to the AC series and it’s amazing soundscape. I’d super recommend listening to more of the songs because, just as others have already stated, they are such a unique sound and super specific to the series itself. AC has a long history of OSTs with a personalities that just ooze style. FromSoft made 15+ of these for a good reason, and every single one has at least one banger. If you want to see just how far this rabbit hole goes, try giving the older titles some listens. Songs like Artificial Sky I (AC3), Someone is Always Moving on the Surface (AC For Answer), Shining (AC Nexus), Dooryard (AC1), The Motherwill Comes Again (AC Verdict Day), to name a few. (A personal fave just for how fucking creepy the undertones are is “Below his Eyes, from Armored Core 3. AC has a lot of very creepy levels featuring bio weapons and creepy shadow corporations so I’d be excited to see your reaction)

I am genuinely an addict for Armored Core music. It's very much its own thing and perfect for its futuristic settings. This specific song takes place in a more civil war setting with a betrayal moment, resulting in an ugly encounter and our extraction carrier damaged.

Armored Core's OSTs are super heavy on synth and rock, with some other flavors sprinkled in too. There's a lot of bangers, but here's some of the real good ones to watch out for. This may seem like a lot, but there's way more that I haven't listed. Remember Mechanized Memories (a sort of sequel to or remix of Remember) Nine/Nineball (boss theme for an infamous recurring boss in the series, Nineball Seraph) Sunrise Life in Ash Fall -Into the Grace- Vendetta Remain Flood of a Life Cosmos

One thing about Armored Core V that it's OST it's just complex Mayhem most of time and I loved it for it. The old games also really good they got that Nostalgia feeling some of them Embrace 90s synth Electronics also more rock mix with electronic and some more so more cyberpunk. Side note most of vocals in the series is at best Japanese engrish. Also i want to add Armored Core is usually a post-apocalyptic dystopian world ruled by usually three or more companies Raven or mer of thengames cenary taking up jobs for said corporations. This is a very cut crash course of 15 games and are pretty fun knes at that if your interest crazy customization.

@@TurnArklight Hilariously enough, "fake it till you make it" rarely works but when it does, it always produces crazy unique styles. Hoshino did end up learning how to properly construct melodies that flow smoothly (despite not learning music theory nor how to read music sheets even after all these years) but he always kept that unique disjointed flair. I'm really looking forward to him stepping back to composing rather than staying as sound director as he's been doing since DS.

Oh, how about some Limitation from Tactics Ogre? Oh, and there's like 15 Armored Cores. It's Dark Souls, the same folks too, but you can swap your parts out for more stuff. Also there's at least 3 canon pilots who made their mechs out of wood and powered them with a hamster wheel.

This video was quite a surprise, not many Armored Core related videos around in the past couple of years. Its cool how the image and song were able to convey the game so well to him, and that he was able to get it so close as well. The entire soundtrack is dirty, since after all its a pretty bleak and post post post post apocalyptic hellscape. I started with Armored Core 5 and then went back to play 4 and 4 Answer. Was pleasantly surprised when in Verdict Day it was shown all 4 games are connected.
