Mod which adds unofficial online co-operative play to Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon for PC. The mod is currently in alpha.
Video demonstrating a 2 player run of the "Attack the Watchpoint" mission. The mod allows up to 6 players (1 host + 5 guests)
Enemy scaling is not present in this build but it will be on release. The host will be able to adjust the difficulty per additonal player. All missions are playable in co-op and your party persists between missions meaning you don't have to keep re-connecting. The host chooses the mission.

I'm grateful for the feedback so far, I honestly didn't expect such big reaction! To clarify release schedules, even though the mod is functional and could be used immediately, I'd like to spend as much time as I can fixing issues and adding QoL features so make an acceptable initial release. I'm not comfortable to comit to a release window yet. I'll post another progress video when I can demonstrating scaling / death & checkpoint mechanics / other missions when I can, and I'll have more information then. Since the mod is much more popular than I expected, I would like to kindly ask for your patience so that I can make a smooth initial beta release in time. Thank you.

As a modder myself I know all to well how much effort goes into stuff like this, and also that you want to release a mod "up to standard" so to say. Yeah pretty sick, probably just so happens that the code is in place to work for multiple targets for all the AIs since its already in many ALLY missions. They didn't feel the need to remove that feature per mission.

You know what this mod needs? More enemy placements, maybe triple the common mooks since one AC is already an overwhelming force and two is an overkill and of course we should buff the bosses too for balance

Yeah i as thinking this as well. Even just the DS2 enemy spam would suffice for now. Obviously make it optional for people who NEED the ease of co op/don't care and have more enemies/difficulty for those who want to do this for novelty/a challenge.

I was also thinking that more enemies would be good. I started looking for a more enemies mod for AC6 like how they've done for the Souls series. Hopefully, this co-op mod will encourage more mods from the community to play well with the co-op mod.

The Blue Acolyte mod stops hackers from doing some malicious things to you as well as a global blocklist for known hackers. It allows you to see a comprehensive data view of your opponents ping's when you do invasions or any online play. It also has some quality of life improvements for Duelists and Invaders like infinite tokens for arenas. @@omid9702

Would it be possible for difficulty to scale up with the amount of players? I am all for blasting through things with a crew, but I do wonder if it could be kept to par so that it isn't a complete stomp. Feel like this could be done with a separate mod anyway, something that makes the game more difficult (it might already exist, I haven't really looked at mods at all) edit: I'm blind I just saw a below comment saying scaling is a thing (but wasn't active in this video). Armored Core was previously not as interesting to me as the Elden or Souls series, but now there is a reason to buy the game and play it with friends. Thank you very much for your work. Enemy AI can multilock in vanilla game, see when Iguazu fights both you and the droids.

@@teslashark yea I guess that makes sense. I just never really noticed before. For whatever reason I was assuming all the bosses had their own separate ai behaviors from other enemy types and thus didn't think the devs would've bothered to program multilocking for them.

probably beyond the scope of this mod, but making MTs / LCs / HCs playable would be an interesting way to help balance 2+ ACs against missions that were only designed for one. kind of like how Rusty makes the first half of the juggernaut fight and (good route spoilers) the second smart cleaner fight pretty trivial. could do similar to multiplayer and have host options to limit core expansions to 1 use and remove repairs. host options to increase the number of enemies and / or increasing their health are the obvious choices. could also reduce AP, reduce ammo count, or enable friendly fire. just spitballing some ideas either way super excited for this

Official matchmaking isn't and can't be used while playing the mod, which means NEST PVP won't be available unless you run the vanilla game.

I had to remake event / world / enemy networking myself which was quite challenging! I'm fairly happy with the results though.
