Armored Core VI First Playthrough - Chapter 2

I've never played a mech game, but watching the first two chapters of this playthrough is giving me the itch.

I've been having an absolute blast. I won't undersell the difficulty, it can be very hard, but it has been a very long time since I've gotten so immersed in a game.

That was definitely the boss I died on the most. It was the first time I had to adjust my build and strategy.

beat it after rougly 4-5 hours, was a contender for hardest souls boss for me and it's not even a full on souls game, and guess what? game crashed during the cutscene after it, and now i have to do it again :)

@@Rev.Serenity I guess it's the point where you REALLY have to try and start experimenting with all kinds of different loadouts to see what works. Once you have a build that is good against the boss, it's pretty easy. There is another, even harder boss somewhat towards the end of the game. The one who put "Ibis" in "the fires of Ibis"

I don't think I've ever seen a more Lobosjr move than stomping on Balteus in Chapter 1 and then absolutely struggle with Smart Cleaner lol.

The power of unga bunga. Anyone can just shoot at balteus until it dies, but the moment the smart cleaner tells/hinted at him to attack from certain angles/directions he's just lost.

Boss specifically designed for vertical missiles, Lobos switches to regulars. I just love it! :D

nah you can hit him with melee from the front very well, too. there's a dead angle where it can't hit you. ultimately I found hitting it from the front easier but I didn't have the tetrapod at all tbf

Yes I used both as well. Right hand fire at the front and vertical missiles at the top. You can kill it really fast that way. I just love the way Lobos does things his own way and makes it work. Little salty about the 2 chests, miniboss (AC) and 3 loghunt enemies he missed on that lvl tho. :D @@Tarcon_Vaagh_69

1:12:00 I had to stop and listen to it for a while too, I was positively surprised to hear hints of jazz in that heavy industrial synth soundtrack! Also at this point in the game, the Coral reminds me a lot of the Red Tide from P:GR 🤔

I was surprised how short Chapter 2 was after Chapter 1, and I found the boss so much easier than Balteus xD Balteus took me 20~ tries (ended up killing with dual bazookas and vertical plasma missiles), while Sea Spider took me only 3 (pile bunker, bazooka, vertical plasma missiles)

Baltheus was so much harder than Sea Spider for me. Baltheus took me like 30 tries and in chapter 2 I only died 5 times in total.

Everybody is different in what they find difficult. I remember lobos dying 10 times against Gideon in his first playthrough.

Bazookas are really good against the spider, you can build the stagger so fast it barely gets to do anything. I've built a fast boi with heavy hitting slow weapons and didn't really struggle with the spider as much as others. Build matters a lot. But also everybody has different playstyles, so the difficulty is subjective for every boss

I was the complete opposite. Got lucky with Balteus on second try whereas Shit Sider took me ages. I finally learned to be aggressive with the pile bunker plus big impact explosions.

so funny seeing what people find easy and what causes struggle, the forge guy was so easy for my build but i was on balteus for like an hour xD sea spider was a nightmare as well, but a fun fight once i learned it

I think I spend 80% of my current playtime in the Garage and testing out new Builds. Then another 15% are trying to get S Rank on previous missions (that god damn Transport Helicoptre mission...) and only 5% are actual progress.^^

Watching this I've concluded that hitting the cleaner's hole with missiles in really inconsistent since they tend to come in at just enough of an angle to hit the rim instead.

I quit trying to hit it, just go into the fight with as much damage as possible. Piledrivers and rocket launcher definitely made the fight way easier

Grenades are fairly accurate for that.

My strat was vertical missles on shoulders with bazookas and grenade launcher on arms aiming for the hole

Don't waste time with the hole. It opens up a frontal weakpoint very often. If you time it well you can stagger it with one good salvo if you've got firepower.

Lobos's ADHD pulling him away to kill enemies right as hes about to come across a secret in the grid 086 mission was driving me insane lol. He turned away from the area with the other wrecker part two times lol. Love it though.

@LobosjrGaming lol, the dual heavy tetrapod fight was a pain when i first encountered it 😭. That mission makes me feel like I'm missing a bunch of secrets in other missions.

I didn't care for the other legs when I tried them, so my first run was bipedal legs only. I don't think there was much struggle at any point, but I also wasn't a heavy weight build, so I imagine that would make it a lot rougher.

There are new parts and missions available in NG+ and NG++. Considering there are three endings it makes sense.

Im happy to see that looby also had some trouble dealing with the clean bot... I thought i was just stupid to fail at these awfully slow moves for a few tries.

The damage stat on melee weapons is so misleading its evil. Unless you go into details and look at the damage of the charged attack you would think that this laser blade does more damage than the pile driver, when it doesnt. Is there actually anything that does more damage than it?

i used dual 2-shot shoulder grenade launchers, and dual miniguns for the sea-spider, took a few attempts, but that's what worked for me.

I just put on two plasma guns and kept hitting the button until it was dead. Plasma guns are insanely effective against that bug, because it likes to stay in one place for a rather long time. I guess any heavy weaponry should work well on it.

In the first AC game, you could sell your default parts for money. I'm surprised they didn't give us that option in this game

​@@jesusleyva4386You can just sell your stuff back for a 100% refund, I amassed 3.8mil credits shuffling gear around by the end game. At 4.6 mil in NG+.

Since like Nexus they haven't allowed selling the stock parts. It's kinda annoying since most of the starter stuff sucks and I just want it out of my inventory

It's crazy to me how many people think this game is strictly linear and they skip majority of the larger levels lol.

They should have had some parts to find within all that empty space in the chapter 1 levels so you don't go into ch 2 blind, thinking there's still nothing useful to find aside from a loghunt enemy or two. Funny cause the first mission in ch 2 has A LOT of logs and parts hidden around. It would be so much more fun to have that in every large map level instead of only data logs, sometimes. Weird design move. I spent hours exploring for things that didn't even exist lol

It's not bad to do bipedals in the cleaner boss. Just have low consumption upward thrust boosters

It'd bad. With Quads, you just lazily float after the Cleaner spamming explosives. You stay up a lot longer and are away from danger basically the entire fight.

​@@alastor8091feel like you can do that with any AC if you build it right minus the hover mode. But not playing 100% optimal builds are not bad either. Doing the meta cheese makes the game boring imo.

@@ibysdagon4659 yeah you can do it but with anything other than quad or reverse joints it sucks. Quad is optimal but Reverse joints aren't too much worse as they can hop high enough. Biped are bad and treads are abysmal. Meta builds are boring, but none of that is meta.

@@alastor8091 its meta for that boss. Just hovering over it pretty much trivializes the whole fight. Not saying I care how ppl play but I mean common, trying to blade it to death is way harder. But for that one I can stay airborne a long time with bipedal builds. Atleast long enough to stagger it comfortably with gun fire. And I don't like tanks but one of the tank legs is designed for aerial combat. It's used in a lot of infinite flight builds so I know you can do that in theory. Just gotta know how to do it.

@@ibysdagon4659 swording the cleaner to death, it's harder yeah, but it's hard in a "dude you're stupid" kind of way, not a "nice skills bro" kind of way. There's a line between off meta and retarded. I'd be impressed with a tank build though, but OP's comment was making a prescriptive build that implies its the easy way to do the boss when the easy way is to use quads, not have low consumption boost.
