Armored vehicles do protect their occupants from small arms fire but are very heavy and don’t get great gas mileage. I saw a video once of a bomb going off under an armored vehicle and it was tossed in the air like a toy. Nice video. Thanks.

At that level, it will have tire inserts. They're basically hard plastic that keep the tire in place and reasonably round so that you can drive away even if the tire has been shot. It's not bullet proof. It's just a realistic solution.
