Being in and around Federal contracting for decades, his description of the related pre-award (e.g., auditing financial systems, site visits, etc.) and post-award processes are completely accurate. He's authentic. I started watching this interview fully expecting to click-away, but not so. He is super intelligent, and super interesting…. It was interesting to hear from the private sector side of contracting versus the Federal, which is where my experience has been... Great interview.

I know. His charm almost makes you forget how dissociated he is from the fact that he is profiting off of blood and carnage. Somehow we are all connected to misery and profiteering. We make a profit for a group of investors at worse, or directly profit from, like David, from the steaming anger and hatred of a political party to at least intimidate and at worse physically destroy, an opponent. He clearly is living good from this life. His mannerisms seem to show ease and leisure.

I listened to the interview with Grey yesterday about the cost of war. Interesting how his and this guy's stories start talking about the 2004 invasion. Here they are in totally different shape. Well now that I'm thinking about it they didn't both start there. David's started in a family and with structure. Grey wasn't so fortunate. Grey some kind of cost of war, here's the profit. They almost don't look too different from one another with Rebecca + Cosmo in the middle. He's talking about selling the same weapons that destroyed other dude's life, check out the demeanor on this guy! The contrast is beyond interesting. 17:42 "big pain, long sleepless nights". I can't imagine the kinds of big pains and long nights a dude like Grey has, what I'm guessing is every night. I can't sit here and act like I personally hate this guy, it's just stunning how......different their perspectives are. talked for an hour straight. Grey sat in silence long enough I thought my phone froze. This guy tells his story and he doesn't sound like a villain. When Grey told his he was his own personal villain, said he's done the worst things. David didn't say he did anything wrong..."whoops we didn't tell the government, silly us, we made 300 million dollars." He didn't make anything sound wrong. "didn't know" the mafia was involved w the Albanians. I KNEW THAT! He's giggling. CONTRAST. "hee hee it became a movie!" 41:30 "really hard time, I was super depressed for like 2 weeks" 2 WEEKS! So then he snitched. Grey didn't like talking about what he went through. This guy LOVES talking about what he's done. Even justified the quality of their goods. Whether the ammo was bad or not isn't even a story. Passed blame to everyone else, the government took the ammo, his "friend" manipulated him, the Albanian government is corrupt (not ours bc of this behavior, this isn't mafia behavior but theirs is), judge said he felt bad ab it, but David never did. Grey said "we were responsible for a massacre". David didn't, he just said he was scared of going to prison 7 times. Other guy fought it and got 4! He was scared of that! Comes out on top as a successful entrepreneur. Boy how the cookie crumbles. Soft white underbelly, more like big ol crumbled cookie. Thanks always, Mark for the powerful work. Reminds me of the diptyques in created equal.

Wow! This is so interesting!! David is a perfect storyteller. I worked for a munitions contractor in the 90's doing Human Resources for 11 years. I was never involved in contracts but I reported directly to the owner. He was the sole owner. He started much like this, even doing grenades. He had 4 plants and over 400 employees at the high point. There was excitement there also, ATF and FBI rades. As an avid watcher of SWU, thank you for this Mark! 😊
