Depends on the length of the training. Longer AITs allow more freedom, and you can use it day one. Shorted AITs might not allow you tech privaleges until after 3-4 weeks

Okay I have a question...how did you get your electronics/laptop? Did you get the opportunity to go home and pack it up for AIT after graduating basic, or did your family have to mail it to you?

This was pre-Covid and I packed a bag of all my electronics before I shipped to basic and I had my family bring said bag with them when they came to family day after graduation. I did not go go home after basic. You can either have your family mail it or bring it with you to basic.

Most people buy one while in AIT, I did when I joined, got it at the PX a few weeks after basic when were allowed to go there. I went to ft. Jackson btw.
