Interesting. I lived the same barracks back in 2010 and they didn't have those doors or walls up between the rooms. We used furniture to create a fake wall and there really wasn't any privacy unless one setup a curtain. This was for 2nd BCT.

In the British Army Barracks they have a bathroom of course but then they have a slightly larger bedroom/living area, they get closets and everything they instead share a kitchen but they do have things like coffee machines, microwaves, kettles and stuff cause they gotta make those teas and stuff of course and they can have pot noodles and stuff like that but they don’t have their own kitchen

Bathtubs in the barracks??totally unheard of when I was in during the 80s we had communal showers common latrine that everyone shared and 3 men to a room , this was while I was in Germany . Soldiers now have it made spoiled rotten.

actually some barracks still have common showers, like the barracks on torii in okinawa. it is a refurbished prison, and also the ssg baracks on marine corps bases are also fitted with common showers

Honestly I have no idea. I know for my unit we normally stay here throughout our contract and whenever we re enlist then people normally pick a different location but, it may just be because of the job we have and the low demand for it.
