Everyone, write your congressman about the barracks at reception. Thats a great way to get things taken care of. Bad living conditions like mold are unacceptable.

Unless you’re in Arms or Asvab 09M) program then you going straight to BCT. , if you’re in the Arms program then you will have to do the program at FT jackson then BCT in jackson as well Apparently you’re not an 09M ( Asvab) because you already have sn MOS( Military Occupational Specialty) . You will do BCT in FT Sill Oklahoma then AIT ( Advanced Individual Training ) in FT Sam Houston Jbsa in San Antonio Texas Hope this message helps you.

What’s the quickest I could ship out I got my app with the recruiter Tuesday all my stuff is already on file just doing the pycat to make sure I’m still where I was yr ago and redoing my background check. If everything’s good would I be able to ship out within acouple weeks? I’m expecting a kid I’m ready to start my career and want to ship out as soon as possible
@SupremeSoldier10 ай бұрын
You should ask the recruiter about the quick ship bonus. If you already went thru MEPS AND your documents is on point you can probably ship in 30 days or so, maybe sooner. The recruiter can give you more details on that
@alexlapointe33469 ай бұрын
Your going to take another test at Meps to verify that picat

I ship out on Monday. Going as an O9S in the reserves as well. What week was the 4 mile?
@militaryman36772 ай бұрын
09S is good then you will do reception then BCT before you commission
@militaryman36772 ай бұрын
There is no 4 mile. There are three phases technically of BCT. White phase there is a7.5 mile ruck , red phase is a 5 mile ruck which is week 3 if I am not mistaken which includes a FTX( Field Training Exercise, ACFT( Army Combat Fitness Test) , and Red phase testing which is everything you learned in week 1-3

If you don’t mind me asking, how old were you when you joined? And how many people were there that were 25+?
@golfery51196 ай бұрын
see if he answers. but I was 34 turning 35 in basic. Would definitely not recommend an older person joining even if you could keep up physically. Had one other guy the same age. Probably about 20 other people if I can remember who were 25+
@benaviyt10776 ай бұрын
@@golfery5119 I see. I’m 23, turning 24 this month. I’m contemplating on joining after I get married this September. I understand experiences may vary for some, but overall it’s just temporary and will one day be nothing but memory.
@golfery51196 ай бұрын
@@benaviyt1077 Good luck. I'd recommend either going national guard/reserves instead of active duty, or if you do go active duty, it's been said a gazillion times on top of a gazillion times, but try to check out the Air Force or Space Force (if possible) instead of the Army (among other things in the Army, you have to go to the field for weeks or months at a time without anyway to have any contact with your family while you are away. In the Air Force, while you might be sent on a temporary duty assignment away from your dependents, almost guarantee you would have some access to internet or mobile data to have some communication with your dependents while you are on your downtime. You just can't do that in the middle of nowhere in the woods in the Army.) But if you do go active duty Army, that's okay.
@benaviyt10776 ай бұрын
@@golfery5119 I appreciate your insight, and I’m also considering NG or reserves. Apparently NG is better for school/college benefits than the reserves. Which is a factor why I’d join. Also, a reservist or NG isn’t considered a “veteran”, unless you meet a certain criteria, but I’d have to get over that lol.
