I went through MEPS early March 2022. Since I have extensive tattoos my process was a little longer because they had to check over everything. I didn’t leave the building until about 17:15. Many individuals weren’t listening and continued talking despite staff telling us not to. It was really about paying attention, following orders and not letting staff intimidate you because the stern faces they give are exactly that, intimidating.

I went today, I watch all your videos prior and to my surprise, our MEPS is super efficient we line up at 5:30 and done around 12:00, and everyone at MEPS is super friendly and nice, I didn’t expect that at all!

Went to MEPS last month it was boring through the whole process, one thing to go by is whatever you put on your pre screening is what you have to go with, trust me the doctor will know if you’re lying since they have access to ALL your medical records, don’t make the doctor dig any deeper *if you have no health issues go by this: NO means New Opportunities YES means Your Enlistment Stops

What a fantastic experience. I went through MEPS and had a great time. From walking like a duck in my underwear to having an audience watch me pee in a cup. Would 10/10 recommend. On a real note, it’s not the worst thing ever. People are firm with you but nothing like they would be in actual boot camp… be respectful and follow their directions EXACTLY. If they say sit, you sit, if they say “leave the paper on your chair and stand up, you leave the paper on your chair (not your desk, or anywhere else) and stand up. Goodluck boys and girls.

My meps was crazy man kid tried to bring a knife in there some dude started yelling they carried him out there was another kid in there in a suit and tie and he didn’t know they strip search I qualified but there wasn’t many of us that did just keep your head down and do it you’ll be just fine the dude that did my blood work was playing California love on his phone but honestly those are memories that will make me laugh ti this day and tell you they did my pee test around 9 don’t drink water the night before drink one cup in the morning so you can hold it and it’s bearable there were people that were pee shy but always be polite and just smile respect is everything there

Went to meps last week to take my verification test, only to find out my recruiter registered me under wrong ssn, so I took Picat under someone else’s ssn. He tried to blame me saying I wrote the wrong social. I was like ain’t no way , I gave you my ssn and sent copies bruh. They didn’t know how to transfer my score, I was literally going back and forth between all these ppl who were saying that I can take verification test and other one saying I can not. Two of them tried to roll me in into full asvab saying it’s verification test. But thanks to the guy who was at test center who told me that they setting me up for full asvab. So I just walked out and told them That I’m leaving, because ain’t no way Jose. Going next week now to take verification test and medical.

I’m shipping out to bootcamp (Navy) 23rd of this month I took my physical last year July so I didn’t haven’t do another one the day I swear in last month I do know on ship day you get a mini physical and here’s my question the weight I gave back then was an estimate of how much I knew I always weighed but I’m pretty sure I was over the maximum weight required because I don’t remember for sure but I’m pretty sure I was tape tested for body fat you know? so if you are over the maximum weight but you pass the tape test and qualify within the body fat standards do you meet the Navy weight requirements???

Hey, I am planning on joining the Navy however, I’ve been having problems with my Blood Pressure. Over the last two years, I’ve been having elevated hypertension. My readings at home are around 120/80 - 130/80. But whenever I go to the doctors, it tend to be around 150/90 - 160/90. I even took a 24 hour assessment on my blood pressure and the reading showed an average of 132/78. I’m starting to get worried that I won’t pass my medical exam. Any tips on helping to lower it down? Please let me know.

If you are already in ROTC, I would advise just going officer. I’m trying to enlist as an E-3 since I have 45+ college credits. If you do, do E-3 make sure to have the credits and also get a copy of the writing for E-3. Everything get a copy/writing.

as fat as I am concern, an correct me if I am wrong. What they do is that they pull your medication records. they “can” pull medical records, but not as a general rule. on top of that, you have to sign an agreement for them to pull up your medical records (according to HIPPA) and they will only pull them if you disclosed a medical condition.

Good Question. You already signed the release form when you got scheduled to go to MEPS for them to pull your records or you wouldn't be going to MEPS. Its not that bad if you made it to the appointment bc they might just cancel your MEPS visit before you show up BUT if went to any urgent cares and doctor visit for something, they MIGHT have it but if they don't address it during the examination then you are fine

You should be fine. Even IF that was an issues which I can guarantee you 100% it’s not. They would just make you get a psych eval and get cleared by a psychologist. I wouldn’t even mention it tbh.

Hello, so I had an er visit out of state that I completely forgot about. Genesis was able to pull it when I went to meps yesterday and they are now requesting those records along with records up to the present and a pharmacy log. How do you recommend I get these records since they are out of state ?? Also, after I provide them with this informationn, and go back to meps, will I be ran through genesis again ? I completed everything for my physical besides the duck walk and the actual physical. After the questions, I was told they were going to leave it “open” and then my recruiter came to get me. I've passed the fire academy with no issues, it's never hindered anything for me..I just need to always stay up on my hydration..I'm terrified, what do y'all think?

might not be able to make it bro. but ask them. some legal drugs are not allowed, as long as your drug is allowed and you provide them the prescription in advance you should be fine. but i believe they said something against steroids at my station, so I'm not sure.

@@erikkahs8755 okay, 1 positive is that you didn’t canceled out before going to meps which is good. Speak on what you have documented with the doctor. Unless you become a doctor out the blue no need to disclose “self” diagnosis conditions. If it’s on file he or she will speak on it, you’ll say your situation “briefly” they’ll decide PDQ, TDQ or good to go If not then there is your answer. when you get to meps just have that documentation readily available, if you feel that serious just in case that comes up to showcase that are you good or at least prepare your answer.

To show you are dedicated to the cause of learning and want to incorporate your leadership skills to help soldiers complete the mission and so forth. Each year the metrics of who they accept each cycle varies. Your recruiter SHOULD have these numbers such as the average gpa, age and etc they accepted. I have a video on the initial OCS board meeting, you can check that out. The active side y’all just have one more step then I did.

the first 5(?) parts are the most important parts, so make sure you study up on those especially. The other stuff is important too, but you can get away with just glancing knowledge on them. and really, just study. and for math, i mean practice examples over and over again so that the process becomes easier to recognize. the questions aren't super intricate with a bunch of hidden meanings and trick questions, they're straight forward. As long as you know what formula does what and how to spot which formula to use, you will be fine. For English, my only advice is to simply read a lot. Read any book you want. Read books with big words in them. Read articles online, whatever. Seeing a lot of words in context will help you understand what they mean and what other words are synonyms to it and shit. The Eragon series is a huge fantasy series with a lot of big words, if you want. But read a lot of other shit too. If anything, you can read a lot of technical shit that helps you with the other parts.

AGREED, study and brush up on the knowledge before taking the official test. Every body verification will be different, its going to be tailored but slight randomized based on you perform on your PICAT For Example, I didn't have any reading questions but I had plenty of math, word knowledge, mechanical and pulley, assembly objects questions

Usually takes 24 hours for them to get the records. Sometimes 2 depending on if that MEPS is short staffed. I’d reach out to the recruiter and see if they can give you an update. They often forget

@vietmostwanted It depends. MEPS transitioned to everything digitally so the recruiter will submit the prescreen they have to MEPS. The goal is to have a ten day turn around for MEPS to either authorize you for a date to go to your physical or request further documentation. However, the system being used is new to MEPS so it can take longer than ten days.

10 years. Trust me they will find out everything on Genesis. My recruiter told me to say no and i did just that. When they asked me about my blood pressure or hypertension , i said i dont recall or remember that from years ago.. I never got medicine amd my doc said i was fine just nerves . Thats what helped. They will see all prescriptions and will call you out.

Aye bro, or anyone who sees this, serious yet embarrassing question: will a hemorrhoid DQ you at MEPS? Looking to enlist soon, nothing crazy hoping for 19K, and I have a lingering hemorrhoid from a few years ago, nothing large or crazy, hasn't bothered me since years ago, no pain or discomfort, and doesn't hinder any physical activity. I even forget about it sometimes, but it's there. Been working real hard to get off the weed and get my system clean, and really want to make something of my life; I'll be so upset if this of all this of all things causes a hang-up in my potential service. Is this something I need to see a Dr about and square away with a surgery, or do you think it will be a non-issue since it doesn't effect me in my personal life? Thanks to anybody who takes the time to answer this.

Not sure if hemorrhoids would be a DQ but I heard they do stick a Q-Tip up your bum. If there’s no pain or discomfort you should be good. I know hemorrhoids are hard to get rid of.. try taking a bath in hot/warm water also hydrate as much as you can because they will do it anyway at boot or basic.

Ask yourself are you asthmatic now? Or do you need it? If not you will be fine.. They will have the records. Just dont go into detail..just say you never used it if they ask and you are fine. Then say nothing else. They will make their own judgment.The reason why they started genesis is because alot of mfs got in the army with health problems and getting disability. So now they making it hard for us who want to join.
