That guy that jumped at the end, is it normal to fall like that? Looked painful. Is that considered a good or bad jump PLF?

Looked bad, they taught me to jump out way further because he might hit the side of the C130 and fucking die when his static line deploys his chute and it hits the aircraft or something

I dont know about the fall but being dragged by the chute across the ground is no fun. Pull the Riser release. already.

He forgot to mention many things .. PT, the worm pit , and some of us had 4-5?weeks of jump school . I had extra week before class started cause I graduated from Echo 1-1 harmony church and marched straight to jump school .. picked up pebbles and got digestive out by black hats until the main body arrived … 86’

Do you need to already be in the military to be airborne? Also, will your main job be jumping or is it just a certification thing just in case? I’m planning to join the army as airborne but can’t find answers to these questions.

Yes you have to already be enlisted, depends on if you are basic infantry or apart of the ranger regiment, rangers are doing alot of airborne either from planes or fast roping down from helicopters. Dont know too much about basic infantry but i know its definitely not the only thing your gonna be doing.

after you finish basic training and AIT you will go to airborne school if it’s in your contract

I went to jump school. The 34 foot tower isnt 5 stories tall.

Would you say it would be terrible if someone tore 3 ligaments in their right knee would they still be able to go to airborne school in about a year? And not die tragically😂

Well yeah, knee may be fugged, you'd gotta pass an airborne physical tho

Likely depends on several factors. How old is the injury(s)? Age of person injured. How serious? Surgery? Probably more....

I’m a Mech but my unit had allocations and the top PT Marine got to go when a spot opened up!

A few more notes: --At every (early) morning formation the Black Hat will call out asking for quitters. There's a few every day. --They feed you well! The chow hall was great. --You will learn how to rake rocks.

I just went through jump school and the first bit is just dependent on your black hats, they never asked us that.
